Wow!!! The Hottest New Internet Marketing Tactics and Tricks!!!..That Don't Work At All, S-Bag Guru!

I thought this message might help a Warrior or two.

It might offend some, but that's not my intention AT ALL...

You know internet marketers like to chase new internet marketing tactics and tricks, and switch to the flavor of the month.

And you also know that most, if not 90%, of these IMers fail with the proven tricks.

There's something the guru forgot to tell you before you invested in the new trick:

You have to have a business first.

Have you ever noticed that almost all of the testimonials with specific results are from already successful internet marketers?

...Sure a lot of the new tactics and tricks work, but what a lot of internet marketers don't understand is:

The tactic and tricks alone are often times worthless.

For example, it's sometimes hard using certain new list building techniques when you don't already have at least a small list to leverage.

Also for example... let's say you learned a new proven squeeze page tactic. It's still not going to work if you don't know the fundamentals of copywriting.

...Worst of all, this leaves a ton of IMers wondering why these "god send" tricks don't work for them.

When the problem is there's nothing already existing for them to leverage and their fundamentals aren't in line.

I think the methods are for us to put into actions and to test and tweak.

Many times, new IMers do not put into action what they have read.

There are a few stages any IMer need to go through too from confusion to competence stage. Don't think most are willing to pay the price upfront and withstand the pain of learning.

    My 2 cents,
    John

You hit the nail on the head Jason.

There's no substitute for providing quality content of value.

I don't know about you...but I don't want "tricks" or to "trick" anyone anyway.

Help people go to where they already are headed and want to go and it's a lot easier to construct a true win-win.

You're right, when I see a series of exclamation points, I run the other way.

Actually Jason that was a good post I think. It is often that the new person comes in buys a bunch of WSOs or products somewhere else. But doesn't understand that they are missing step 1 to get to step2 which is what that certain product is about. Or they have 1 and 2 but not 3. They are left often to go search for themselves.

Now searching for themselves is often a good thing. Teaches them not to be spoon fed everything. That they do have to work to achieve something.

But there is no real guide in many products that state...you need to learn this before attempting this.

Now I have seen some offer bonuses that are from other people that fill in the gaps. Which is probably a great idea. Saves you the time of getting them up to speed and where they need to be for your product. But saves them time and headache as well. Which you are trying to normally be all about the customer if you want a product to last longer than 30 days.

I get frustrated often when trying to explain something PHP related to someone new to programming in IRC channels. But you know what the toughest thing is I think when entering anything like IM or programming is? The lingo....

I think if someone takes the time to learn or get familiar with the terminology prior to diving in they will find they retain a hell of a lot more of the info.

So maybe people targetting new IMers should send them to an IM dictionary or something to get familiar with the terminology of the crazy IM world first.

I think I just went a few different places in this post lol... But hopefully I am making some kind of sense...and hopefully I understood the point you were trying to make.

This is where the problem remains... availability of good solid learnable information compatible with the purchaser. Some people may not like reading ebooks but will buy one because it promises unfound riched in the sales copy. Then they may only read a few paragraphs, after which it begins to collect dust on their desktop.

Some people may learn better with audio or video, but access to that information will be very limited, because most newbies to the IM game are already broke to begin with, and these types of training materials are often very expensive.

The ones that do find material that is learnable to them, often don't implement what they learn, because they have active lives. Getting into Internet Marketing is no small venture.

You not only have to have the gift of good business sense, but you also need foresight to be able to act on opportunites in a niche market. If you are slow paced when it comes to acting on an idea, or are indecisive then you will lose out on big opportunities in the market.

On top of that you either have to be able to outsource the technical stuff or anything else you are not knowledgeable about in IM, or you have to be willing and able to learn those things. This is no small feat, because learning as much as one truly needs to know to be successful in any business not just Internet Marketing, requires a lot (and I do mean a lot) of sacrifice of your free time.

In my opinion, in order to be able to establish a good IM business, you need to be able to focus most if not all of your free time on it for at least a year. Most people will give up before that time arrives. Then they will proceed to blaming it on the products they bought, or the people that sold it to them.

This why stats hold true for the number of businesses making less than $500 per month in Internet Marketing. IM is a business and you have to treat as such. You treat it like a hobby, and it will be just that... a hobby.

You have to put in a lot of effort to be successful at this business, and you have to keep your eye on that prize at all times. Life may suck for 1 to 2 years, but after that the sailing will be smoother and smoother until you are pretty much on autopilot.

One last thing... the true key to being successful in any business is fundamentals. In fact that is true for just about anything from sports to musical instruments to IM.

I'm just getting into IM since I hooked up with a couple of partners. Didn't need any IM the last 5 years but need to do some now.

Reading your posts is really enriching my knowledge about gaining info. on IM and go about doing it in a cost effective way.

            Thanks everyone!

If you were given a strategy, trick or tactic that would instantly turn your squeeze page into a list building behemoth that converts 99% of all visitors to members of your list, you'd probably think that's pretty awesome.

If likewise you learned a tactic that would convert 90% of all readers to paying customers, that'd be fantastic.

Now here's one for you. What if you knew how to convert 99% of all surfers to visit your squeeze page into subscribers, and you knew how to get 90% of your subscribers to buy within 2 emails. But no one taught you anything at all about how to get traffic to your squeeze page, and you're starting from scratch with no one but the 'guru' who sold you the above 2 tactics to ask about how to get traffic.

Imagine your frustration when this guru doesn't appear to have any tips to offer about getting traffic?

In the world of the internet there are too many possible pages to visit. If you build it they will not necessarily come.

I like the idea of improving my results, but tricks won't last. Tactics have to evolve with time.

Those who lack a skillset can not rely on a trick or two to see them through.

that's why I think copywriters deserve to be shot

But in all seriousness, what tactics tend to stand the test of time?

Only if they don't convert. Kidding.

The truly successful copywriter is the channel between the market and the product.

The ability to research and know both (market and product/service) intimately well and the experience to construct the offer in such a way that the benefits are drawn out of the desires of those to receive them is at once an art and science of business psychology and behavioral study mastery.

It's been said that without traffic, the best offer is useless and yet,
all the traffic in the world is useless unless it is driven to a salespage that naturally and seamlessly draws in the visitor prompting a transaction based on providing satisfaction of the visitor's desires, absolution of their fears and solutions to their problems.

As long as me or none of my family get scammed I'm fine with it. The scams make 90% of newbies give up before they reach the real ways to make money online. Everybody can't be rich, or else nobody would be rich, which means I wouldn't be rich.

    JAson, I agree...

And we have all ben there sometime in the past,m just that we don't really remember this once we are successful and are going rolling.

So I'd like to say that there is still a need to valueable packages for the newbies wjho don't really have the capability of benefiting from these little tactics that just add to what is already existing!

So listbuilding and squeeze page building is pointless unless you know how to drive traffic.

And I see there are people that even install "testing" and "tracking" scripts on their landing pages, just that there is no traffic for that.

So, I think we all have the option of helping these people out there that know less than we do and in turn get benefitted from that!

    Its like synergy
