How to do IM while full-time working and persuade spouse to help you?

I have a pretty busy full-time job and my IM did not go any further. Since I did not make much I cannot persuade my spouse to help me on that even if he has more free time. He always doubt that this can make a living and I have no way to prove to him that he can quit his much hated job with little pay by doing IM. Even if I believe he can quit his job and work on IM and eventaully he'll make as much as his current job.

My question is, seriously, how one can make $100 a day if he is a non-believer of IM? How I can persuade him that he can do it and quit his job if he can make $100 a day?

To me, IM is a dream job. You are free to work anytime anywhere.

Any help from fellow warriors appreciated!

Well, assumign you a girl by your post/picture. (Not sure what nationality 'yaji' is, sounds Japanese but you don't look Japanese...!)

But more seriously... Make $1 online. Whether it's adsense, selling a clickbank
product, offering your own product/services online, when he (or anyone for
that matter) sees their "first" online cheque -- it is an amazing experience,
especially with the realization that you do not have to sit at a 9-5 job to 'try'
to make ends meet.

To make him a believer, the expression 'seeing is believing' is very true. Make a little
bit of cash first, and then he will be more alert/attentive to what you have to say.

I would imagine the best way to convince someone that it's possible is to just do it yourself and lay it out right in front of them.

Sure you may have made a couple hundred but I guarantee once you start doing that every other day it really becomes easier to take it more seriously.
This is provided you have a workable model that's easy to replicate.

For me, this business is one of momentum, once you get that proverbial snowball rolling it suddenly becomes quite a bit easier to convince others your methods for madness are legitimate.

I say keep plugging away and SHOW HIM what you are capable of...I know for a fact this worked for my wife.

There are many ways to make $100 per day.

1. Try site slipping
2. Selling product
4. Selling Clickbank products (It may take some time...)
5. Try to do some work on GAF, or Elance or Guru
6. If you can write articles, or good sales letter, then you can do copywriting
7. CPA

Many here work full time jobs and do IM in spare hours until they reach the point where the income allows them to work online full time.

If IM is YOUR dream job - you should do it. Doesn't sound like he's interested but that could change if he sees you doing well with it.

Much appreciated. I am just too swamped with my full-time job and cannot get things going much further... You are right, I may need work harder on this IM thing ... But I have to make sure this extra work really pays off to a point that we can quit our jobs to do IM full-time. To me, I think it is not easy either.

I would put the hours in on a part time basis - say working on your laptop in front of the telly on an evening, using that spare 15 minutes at work to be writing your ebookn and unfortunately not all partners will come on board.

I know a fellow warrior that still works full time her boyfriend is at home as he is unemployed and he could make so much of a difference to get her out of her 9-5 job but believes it is all a con and will not waste his time on it. Think that if you cant persuade him just carry on alone and it will come together.

If you can't motivate him you will have to prove it to him yourself. Chances are even then he won't be motivated.

Some people just don't want to spend their days in front of a screen.

Yaji - my advice is simple. Your spouse is not interested in this right now, and you won't help your relationship OR your business by trying to get him involved when he has no interest. I've been there. I know what you are going through.

The solution is this: While you both have your full time jobs and a full time income, take EVERY penny you make (and maybe some of your job income) and re-invest it in IM stuff. I'm not talking about products. I'm talking about outsourcing, hiring people to do tasks for you, product creation, etc. You will get way more done this way.

I just started using elance again after a hiatus for over a year. I have two providers now working for me. One is building backlinks (using Angela's and PJ's packets) and the other is finding website owners in my niche and sending them emails inviting them to be my affiliate. This is costing me like $3-4/hr. Unreal. And the people are quality workers.

I'm also spending $150/month on Angela/Paul's backlinking service (but it *may* be cheaper to outsource this myself depending on results of above elance use).

I'm also using a graphics guy regularly whenever I need stuff done for my site. In the past I'd toy away on Photoshop and get nowhere.

There are a million things you can outsource. You need to become the idea person in your business and outsource the tasks you can outsource. Every time you plow money back into your business (in an effective way) you should amplify your returns. This will help you make more money, perhaps interest your spouse more later, and be happier.

Maybe you need to introduce your spouse to some of the successful IMers who are making a lot of money online. Once he sees what is possible, he may be more of a believer.

I see you're in US. Any chance of getting him to a meet-up?

Try and work till you make $100 and then show him the proof. Most people outside IM really do not believe that there is money to be made online. The only way you can convert them is by showing them some actual proof (like a $$$ check).

A good friend of mine had a similar situation with his spouse. He started his online business way back on 2000 and made some money so he stuck with it. He started making $200-$300 per month now makes a lot more per month. The real turn around for him was when his wife saw the proof coming in month after month. After she realized the potential of IM, she jumped aboard with both feet. I think success is the only solution for this situation.

Thanks all for the input. Another half of the question is it is really challenging to make significant amount of IM money while you are working a full-time, demanding, job not IM related but enough to keep up a family.

If you have experiences like me struggling for IM while working in a full-time non-IM related job, I'd like to hear about it too.

If you can find a subject that your partner is deeply interested in, and find a way to monetise from that subject, that may help in encouraging him to get some motivation to get started.

My spouse was not all that interested in what I am doing online. She was certainly proud of me for creating an amazing audio course, and for hitting some sales milestones. But she didn't really want to be involved. However ... it has started to hit a pretty nice profitability level and this weekend she volunteered to write some blog posts for me to review a synergistic product that we are an affiliate for. She did a great job on the posts and it was a pleasure to sit on the couch together with laptops on each of our laps, and a bottle of wine.

So ... there is hope. BUT your spouse does not have to share this interest. Really. Learn to deal with it and if it changes, great. But your relationship started without IM in it and it can continue that way.
