  yes this is very good spotting.
  
  Normally you lists get bigger, and you have other things to deal with, older subscribers, spam, new emails, old email address, people do not open and stuff like that.
  
  Come back when you have a 100k list, like we do, your stats are alot different then.

All that screenshot suggests to me is that you need to get your tracking sorted out because it's not working properly.

If everyone opens your email then you would have an open rate of 100%. Anything over that is impossible.

I would go back and look into why your stats are so screwed up. Somethings not right.

  Well that would explain the number but again, that tracking doesn't really help things.
  
  You need to know the number of unique people who opened the email. That's all that really matters.

I know Aweber counts any open as an open. So, if the same person opens it more than once, it counts as two opens.

I've had plenty of emails that had over 250% open rate. Always with smaller lists, though.

But, there is still a valuable lesson in there...when someone opens the email more than once or twice, there is some piece of content they really like.

Learn WHY an email was opened more than once. And then try to replicate that will all of your emails.

If I were to open my emails multiple times from my mailbox, I might be able to beat those numbers. Problem is, I am not making money when I open the email myself. :p

  I only care about click rates, not open rates.
  
  Lots of people open mail simply to get it to not be marked as unread anymore, though don't actually read it (at least I do). And if you have a high unsub rate that'll increase the open rate also since they have to open it to unsub.
  
  What matters to me is if my email got them to take the action my email was aiming for. Clicking, buying, filling out a form/survey etc.

I had a friend say I opened his email 17 times... I suppose because I toggled back and forth from inbox to inbox in outlook.

its really to bad open rate means nothing but how good your subject line is so thats not even the least bit impressive. Show me a 140% CLICK rate and i'll be impressed.
