One might argue though that a women with an attractive voice is more likely to have an audience of guys listening to her thinking about 'other' things.

Whilst a women with a less attractive voice will have our full attention on what she is talking about.

To be honest, I have seen several female members of this forum and the way certain male members behave around them. And that's just going off of one little profile photo they can see. In some cases it's like watching animals in the jungle.

So sexuality does definitely play a role both in the online and offline world. In the offline world where we would usually get to see a persons full body and hear their voice before making an opinion, on the Internet all you have is their voice and maybe a picture. So I guess a voice would have a bigger impact online. Whether it's a good thing or a bad thing though, I'm not sure.

I remember reading about one female marketer who kept getting tickets to her helpdesk asking her out. Not sure I'd want that happening in my business.

A sexy voice would definitely increase sales, among a male demographic at least.

No question about it.

Especially if all other variables were present. IE: good offer.

I have noticed this as well. Not to mention the fact that anyone on here can use a picture of a super model as their avatar and everyone will go gaga. Suddenly everything they have to say will be more interesting, lol.

I, like most guys, find higher pinched female voices more attractive (not too high of course, that's just annoying). But I also pay more attention to male voices that are crisp and clear. So if you are planning on uploading a new video soon, pay attention to your voice. Repeat the script several times to avoid nervous vocal tones.

Apparently you are more attractive in every way during this time of the month. Pheromones etc. Interesting how despite not consciously knowing or being at all aware of these subtle differences, our subconscious knows and influences us. Strange how little we are aware of how we're being influenced all the time and how much less control we have than we think we do.

As far as if a voice change helps with captivating an audience better to watch your videos, you wouldn't need to wait to any certain time. As long as you know what the difference is, higher pitch or whatever, you could talk that way intentionally. Like, all the time. Lol.

The female Australian dialect is naturally higher pitched than most. I like it.

When studying bodylanguage, it is very clear that women in the workplace like to dress in a way that shows less skin to make them seem more professional and seen as an equal. This way (as said earlier in the thread) people listen to what they have to say as opposed to having their mind taken in a different direction.

I suppose it depends on what you're selling and if you know your pitch is good or not. A good friend of mine (some would consider her a sales guru) says that when selling anything she first sells herself, then the company, than the business.
This could definitely help sell yourself first

Being serious, it would be an interesting experiment to adjust the pitch on the sound track of a sales video - maybe up a quarter tone for a female voice and down a quarter tone for a man - and do an A/B test on their effectiveness.

Good idea, just keep in mind that hormonal changes probably affect more than pitch. Intonation, enunciation, etc all probably change subtly.

The only problem I see with this strange and interesting fact is going to Fiverr to order a female voice-over and then write the seller saying something like:

"Yeah, about my order, can you.. uh.. wait until.. uh.. you've started, you know.. ehem. Well.. oh never mind.."

I'm always very apprehensive of these "studies" as they tend to be formatted (aware or unaware) so the outcome fits their premise.

My opinion? forget your ovulating circle and focus on the more "traditional" elements of your video: copy, tempo, content, etc.

Oh, btw guys - low pitched very masculine voices were preferred on the reverse side.

hahah imagine posting in freelancer or elance or odesk a project title that goes something like "looking for female voice over artist in ovulation" lol.

But yes i like this kind of studies.
Small details that seems insignificant but yet it have a subtle yet powerful effect.

Obviously a it is good to have a sexy voice. It would help you advertise a dating site, but might not be so helpful in selling other services. Does any one have some numbers on the effect of the vendors voice - any one?

I noticed there is a lot of worry that other women would be put off....BUT I hear that most women find the female more attractive than the male...at least when it comes to looks. I wonder if this would be the same for the voice.

Not saying all women are gay...just saying they look better than us guys and they know it lol.

That would be a tight test.

Another segment of the program also showed how the female face actually changes and has more of a "glow" during ovulation as well.

All in all I guess the glow can be recreated with makeup, and as suggested above one could use audacity or something similar to alter the voice.

The only way to take it full force would be for the invention of smellivision - which you'd simply have a bunch of different vials filled with different chemicals that when combined would create your different smells (I've thought about this in the past for something I'd love to experience during cooking shows or burger commercials). Anyway you'd have to log in some kind of DNA program that gets a persons specific smells just right. Wonder if someone on Elance could handle that one...

Until all that can get sorted out I think Mark is right. One could charge extra for things done during ovulation as it isn't an every day event per person. On the flip side of that it could get a bit saturated if you get too many gals offering it as not everyone is on the same schedule.
