Screencast-O-Matic has not sound on playback. HELP!

I just bought the pro Screen-cast-O-matic. I have been able to record on the free version up until now, but started getting issues with the free version and held off buying pro until it got resolved.
Customer care walked me through the sound configuration. My setup is this:
- I have a PC with no built in webcam.
- I use Logitech webcam C920 which has a double mic.
I DO NOT get sound on playback, but when it it uploaded, I can hear clearly.
I see that my computer is picking up sound due to the sound levels moving when I speak.
I am so frustrated and I don't know what to do.
Here's what I tried:
I updated the service pack
I checked my audio drivers for updates and repair via Microsoft
No repairs or errors were found when that was scanned.
Initially, customer care showed me how to find the speaker setting and it was indeed on mute, that's when it worked initially for that brief moment.
Now when I go back to check the same thing, it appears everything should be unmuted and should be heard.
The playback is totally silent, but when uploaded it works perfectly.
