We've had a website built for us over the last couple of months and it's finally ready to launch. It will be a monthly subscription site.

How would you all suggest we go about this?

My best advice to get a membership website kick started would be to find lists pertaining to your niche and JV with them. Find as many lists as you can and blast a grand opening to each list with a 10% discount just for the first 100-1000 people.

If not, put some money into a small campaign that gives discounts as well. What niche is your membership based website in?

    Kevin,

It's a pretty open ended question. What exactly are you wanting ideas for?

A lot of people are hesitant to sign on to a recurring payment, especially if the site has few members and is brand new.

I would say the best thing you could do is establish your credibility and value to the customer in your niche first by selling a high quality product for a tiny price (or even give it away). Get your work in the prospects hands so it's evident that you are an authority in the niche.

Then offer the membership as an up-sell or OTO. Memberships are not for everyone but you're likely to get a better response if your prospects can first sample your content and style and experience the quality you offer.

Just one other thought. I would make a video tour of your membership site and let the prospects see (before you ask for any money) what they are buying. Anticipate their questions and answer them up front.

The best to you in this project.
