Google spends a lot of time and money trying to keep SEO'ers from being able to game their search results. And, in the same token, SEO'ers spend a lot of time and money trying to figure out how game the Google rankings.

It's only natural that techniques will become obsolete as Google continues to improve and evolve it's ranking algorithm. If this wasn't the case, you'd still see nothing but exact-match domains on the front page of every Google results page.

So, to answer your question, "Yes." SEO ranking techniques from 1+ years ago aren't likely to be as effective (if at all) for ranking in Google today.

    Hi

It sounds like you asking if SEO or organic search traffic methods are out of date?

I think you need to look at other sources of traffic other than organic search.

It is great if you get extra traffic from Google but you are essentially running a business and it is not good practice to relay on only 1 source.

Your question was kind of vague but another (shorter) answer is yes.

    Thanks

    Dave

So auto blogging software will not work anymore and some keyword research tool?

I honestly can't remember the last time I've seen an auto-blog in any search result on Google. And I use Google a LOT.

So, chances are, auto-blogs aren't doing so hot in today's rankings.

Some do but many others don't because the basis remains the same.
