Posting comments and guest blogging, which is better

Guest blogging is the number 1 on the list anytime it comes to generating traffic online but we all know its not something easy and most blogs even receive up to 20 guest post in a month and you wouldn't want to queue behind them and when it comes to commenting, its the easiest strategy and interesting thing to do, you build backlinks and more chances of getting visitors to your blog if its a comment luv enabled blog you are commenting. BUT i want to know your opinion, which on works better for you out of the two, you can also list any one if its not commenting or guest blogging.
whats your most interesting way of generating traffic to your blog?

More than likely you blog comment for backlinks whereas guest blogging is for generating traffic + backlink.

Blog comments take a lot less time than guest blogging.

So - it's kind of where you feel your time is most valued. Can you guest blog and get in front of 100,000 people? If so - it may be worth guest blogging.

But, if you guest blog and are only in front of 500 people, might be more "cost (time)" effetive to blog comment.

I would say that both methods are better if:

    1. As a blog commenter: You post high quality, relevant and valuable comments that satisfies the blogger/publisher and the readers. In this way, you are now gaining some attention and may give you a high quality backlink too for being valuable.

    2. As a guest blog poster: You post high quality, relevant and valuable blog post so that the blog owner himself or herself will be satisfied and make you as his/her long term guest blogger. It may help bring you even more exposure, or to build your brand.

    Remember, quality > quantity.

It's unlikely that you will generate a significant amount of money from either technique. Unless you find an ultra high-traffic blog, the odds just aren't that good. I recommend that you focus on other methods to generate traffic that:

    A) Aren't unreliable
    B) Can be scaled
    C) Don't require so much of your time
