Did the WF go back to free membership?

I noticed the spam bots are back, did the WF go back to free? I don't have a problem if they did, but I see xrumer is back at it again

    I think so and yes I noticed them too. On a large forum such as this such attacks are to be expected.

      Can't really blame them for doing it, it probably locked out alot of new people, who just didn't have a paypal account and are eager to learn and interact. I guess it's just more work for the mods :p

    most of these attacks won't harm the site. It is already protected. So, no problem there

    It's scary how effective Xrumer is. I remember seeing it in action one day. It should also be a lot more effective now than it was just a few years ago.

      Do you think Google actually give those xrumer links, juice? It seems like the stuff it post's is nothing more than gibberish with a link to the site.

    There should be good mods to take care of xrumer attack, no matter how good the xrummer software is.

    It looks like they did. I just tried to register from a different browser and it let me go straight to member registration.

    I believe that it is really better for everyone if the forum will be free because this way everyone can participate of everything, besides the invasion of spammers.

    However, this invasion can be problematic… Nothing is perfect.
