I hear this all the time, this method doesn't work, that method doesn't work. This is a scam. That's a scam

Have you ever stopped to think, maybe, just maybe your not doing it right?

I spent $50 on a 100 click solo ad a few days ago. It ran over the last 24 hours.

In that 24 hour period I received 68 subs and 10 sales on my SLO (self liquidating offer) The goal of an SLO is to just break even. An SLO is a cheap product that pays you instantly so you can essential advertise for free, by instantly recouping your investment

I have my own merchant account so the money hits my bank account in under 3 days.

My SLO sells for $9.99 so 99-50= $49 profit

Not exactly retire and live on the beach type income.

But I'm a PROUD member of a marketing system that pays 100% commissions on up to $5,000 worth of products. A lot of people say it's a scam, but I actually learned this inside that exact same training program.

2 People signed up over their so far, and after upsells and what not, the Lifetime Customer Value is around $650

so I spent $50 and could potentially receive an additional $1,300 in income. Now since this solo ad provider has proven it's self to me.

I will buy their 1,000 click option for $400. I'll let you do the math on that. They also have click packages up to 5,000! if the 1,000 test works, then I'll get a few 5,000 click packages

Every solo ad provider won't convert this well. So that's why it's important to test small first. If the list doesn't convert with your offer. Well then don't buy from that seller with that offer again. It might work with another offer, just not with that particular offer

so set them aside for when you have a new offer. I have tested a lot of solo ad providers and found a lot that didn't work with my offer.

Does that mean they don't work? No. It simply means my offer wasn't right for that list. But I have also found a lot of solo providers that my offer converts very well with

If you just bought 1 $40 solo ad and didn't produce any sales then quit, turned to the forum and said they don't work, it's not solo ads that are to blame. it's you.

It's the same thing with training and coaching, I have went though a lot of products, and have gotten incredible results with them. then there's always a group of people who say it's a scam.

that's funny, I went though the same training they did, I got huge results, but they turn to the forums and cry scam. Ask yourself, are you sure the problem isn't you?

    Amen brother.

Solo ads are one of my favorite sources of traffic.

If you bend my arm enough I'd say it's my FAVORITE barnone.

    You know what?

They're the fastest way to build a list in my opinion.

    The traffic is targeted.

And it's actually pretty damn cheap.

If you find a good solo ad vendor, keep hitting them till they run dry to your ads.

    Then change your bait.

Look at it this way: is your fault as long as you don't complain.

When i first saw the title of the thread, i thought it was from a newbie ranting about how they lost $500 on solo ads. But quite the contrary is here. Solo ads definitely do work. Know the math in your business, and test different solo ad providers. Don't give up if one solo ad provider doesn't give you the breakthrough results you were looking for.

    Nice post

I've not run solo ads before/yet... I do a lot of list building via FB advertising at the moment.

What would you consider a decent cost-per-signup? I guess it depends on how profitable your own offer is to recoup the cost, but I've heard that anywhere under $1 per signup is considered decent.

Would you agree/disagree with this figure?

    Cheers

Thank you for writing this thread/semi-rant (wink). It doesn't just apply to solo ads, as you have already said, and it makes people who were having a slightly discouraging day (I'm suffering from writer's block right now - I always get past it though), remember to take a step back and see the big picture.

If any of us who have succeeded at anything let the small failures stop us, where would we be, always falling behind or treading water, right? I learned the lesson that you talk about in this thread long ago, but sometimes we have to be reminded. And now, you have also made me want to consider adding solo ads to my traffic arsenal, so thanks!

That is a great ROI, I would have been happy with the 68 subs

Honestly, solo ads, can work, it's just that there are a bunch of solo ad sellers who give it a bad name. I know a few solo ad sellers that really deliver results. It has become saturated with alot of people who have terrible list's.

Well said my friend! I have really good success with Solo Ads. I do also agree that you should send sample smaller click amounts from different solo ad providers to test the conversion rate of the squeeze page from different "Ponds". Once you have a winner, scale it up and get it rolling.

To me Solo Ads is the best source of traffic, it is very expensive but it provides higher conversions. The persons who offer Solo Ad Service are successful Internet Marketing gurus who have a large email list of followers who trust them very much.

There has to be a good match between your offer, your landing page, and the list's members. This is the reason I decline over 50% of advertisers to my lists. I don't want to waste my list members' time.

So glad that you look out for your subscribers. I really do wish that more list owners truly cared about and respected their list members. I have absolutely no problem with un-subscribing from lists owned by people who lack respect for my time, interest, and wallet. We aren't blank canvases that you can just throw paint at, you know?

I freely admit that I am prone to give serious consideration to offers I get via email if the list owner is someone whose opinion I respect and/or whose products and/or services I have bought before and consider to be of quality. These considerations really do matter.

I wish many more of us list subscribers were harder on these spammy list owners so that we could cull their numbers much quicker. But, c'est la vie...

I think for newbies, it would take a little trail and error and testing and tweaking before they can become profitable with solo ads. This is a common thing with any traffic source, you have to test and tweak till you till you become successful.
