Affiliate button redirects to the CB payment processor?

Greetings!

Is this possible? If so, how?

Let's say I have a button that says, Get Discount Price here, and if clicked on, you will be redirected to the CB payment processor right away. Meaning, we bypass the vendor's salespage.

Please share your thoughts on this.

Thanks,
G.B

Yes you can. In most cases you will want to get permission from the vendor though and make sure they are ok with it. Some vendors don't like it because their full sales message is not being seen and this might increase the risk of refunds and the like.

Here is the link you need:

    clickbank.net/sell.cgi?YOURID_VENDORID/ProductNumber/ProductName

YOURID which is your ClickBank ID
    VENDORID the vendor's ClickBank ID
ProductNumber is the Clickbank product number
ProductName is the Clickbank product name

    Here's the format:

    http://clickbank.net/sell.cgi?YOURID_MERCHANTID/ProductNumber/ProductName

    [example below]

There are 4 things you need to edit in that link:

    YOURID is your ClickBank ID

MERCHANTID is the merchant’s ClickBank ID

    ProductNumber

    ProductName

The product name and product number can be found in the merchant’s original checkout link. View the merchant’s sales copy page, then click View > Source in your browser. This brings up the source code for the page, and you can locate the order button and analyze their order link.

Put the order link on your web page, and then click on it to make sure that it works correctly. Once you get to the ClickBank checkout page, put in your zip code and then scroll down to the bottom of the payment page to make sure that your affiliate ID shows up at the very bottom.

    Good luck.

You want to make sure the vendor always knows and agrees before doing this.

      1. I believe cb requires this

      2. If the vendor changes the product item id this kind of link will break.

      3. Some vendors use scripts that may not be compatible with this technique

As Sunil mentioned, CB now requires you to get permission from the vendor before you do this.

Also, be aware that your affiliate cookie will NOT be set with this method. If your prospect clicks your "direct to payment page" link and makes the payment right then, you will still get affiliate credit. But if they click your link, then don't purchase, then come back to that site at a later date and purchase, you don't get credit.

Exactly as Brandon and others explain above.

Vendors will normally give permission for this (it tends to work to their advantage, and against the affiliate, overall).

It's a funny business: it's using ClickBank but not using their cookie system. I can see it working for people who want to re-produce the sales page themselves for some specific reason, and who send communications with the link to their email subscribers so regularly that they don't really worry about losing the occasional sale. I do know someone who does this perfectly successfully, but it's not something I'd do, myself.

I routinely bypass CB vendor sales pages because within some niches IMO they tend to be either over-hyped, cheesy, or otherwise incongruent distractions to my email marketing promotions. Generally permission is almost always granted if you can convince the vendor that your marketing is within CB's TOS and will not result in unacceptable refund rates.

So I guess, it's a case to case basis.

Well, Go4DBest, the decision is yours.
