What should I be doing to boost this pages traffic? Please help!

Hey everybody,

I have a quick website that I created. It is only 1 page at the moment. I got this tip from someone on Warrior Forum to make an extra 1000/month if done right. He said to create a website on a topic (I chose "How to gain energy fast") and research as many ways as you can to help achieve what your topic is about. So I did that. He then said list all those ways in a PDF format ebook and put it on your sites page with a donate button at the bottom. Asking the reader that in return of a donation of any kind, they will get my ebook (in my case "72 Ways to Heal and Boost Your Energy".) So I did just that.

He said to use a platform like Blogger, so I did. He said to optimize it as best as you can and wait for the traffic to start rolling in, leading to sales (donations) for your ebook.

So it has been about 4 days now and I'm only seeing 3 or 4 visits per day.

I don't really know what I should do to optimize the page. I did Ping it to directories. Other than that I haven't done anything else.

Here is the URL:

Ways to Gain Energy and Stay Happy

What should I be doing to help this thing take off better?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You will never make money this way! You need a good product and a high-quality sales page. Even then, it will be hard to make a thousand dollars per month. If making money online was that easy, everyone with Internet access would make thousands per month from home.

Okay. So am I looking at a dud here or should I do something else with this page? What's the best approach with this site? I'm not looking at creating a different site. Just this one. What can i do with what I already have with this site?

      Thanks.

Almost nothing! If you want to be serious, you have to get your own domain first. After that, you will have to create a good ebook and a good looking sales page (website). Only when you finish all that, you can then start promoting!

you are thinking about it all wrong! yes I said wrong....

By WRONG! I mean you are asking yourself the wrong questions.

I would be doing the total opposite.

    ASK THESE 2 QUESTIONS!

    1) Where is my most likely customer hanging out right now? As in TODAY!?

    2) What can I offer my most likely customer, to increase value and get them craving for more? software? Free ebook? Newsletter? Updates? Video? PDF? Mindmaps? Webinar? etc.

See where I am going here?

    Hope this helps. Your welcome.

I agree with sivricmarijan about getting your own domain.

I never use a free blog service but they control the site. Imagine spending hundreds of hours building a site.

Someone complains to blogger - and it doesn't matter if the complaint is valid - and blogger takes your site down without notice.

Take a look at your keywords. They're not good enough. Do some keyword research and find something with low competition and a decent number of monthly searches.

I do not like black sites with white letters. No black backgrounds (unless you're doing an adult-themed or similar niche). Research shows that people stay on websites longer when there is a white background and black letters, just like reading something on paper.

I don't agree with the "contribution" theory. I'd give something away free in exchange for an opt-in. You don't have to spend the money on an autoresponder in the beginning. You can start your own list and do everything manually. Just trying to keep your costs down.

Buy a domain for $1. Get cheap hosting, less than $5 a month.

Write, and write and write some more. The more content you have, the better.

But not just any content. Use the keywords you find in your content and you'll be able to get your site ranked.

Do NOT ever believe anything on here that touts:

"You can make $1,500 a day on autopilot by simply doing . . . "

This kind of stuff drives me crazy. Even worse, don't ever fall for the screen shots of some dude's bank account or anything else that "proves" they're making bank. Chances are, they're not.

Hello, I am new to this, I was wondering if autopilot is even legit? Does it work? And do you have any recommendations?

Don't base your business on a Blogger blog. They can shut you down just cause you sneezed the wrong way. You need to learn how to direct response marketing online the right way, and dont try to pimp people with your donate button.

If the Warrior that gave you this advice made you pay for it in the form of a WSO ask for a refund.

This idea is terrible and a waste of time. And traffic is not magically going to be sent your way by anyone.

I'd start again with a new idea if I was you.

Thanks everyone! I do appreciate the help. I do also have a website powered by Wordpress with my own domain. This was just something quick that I was trying. And no I didn't pay a dime for the technique. I appreciate all of the responses.

    Thanks again.
