Conspiracy in WSO?

Buyers and sellers coming together in a market place where financial transactions take place for each others own personal gain? Nah, probably nothing shady happens ever.

Some marketers are known for reviewing EVERY product under the sun with a positive review. Sometimes they do it for a free product, sometimes so their list will buy more.

My advice for WSOs...if you didn't search for it and compare it against similar products.. don't buy it.

You need to check out who the reviews are written by. Some members have quite a post-count simply from having written WSO reviews in exchange for free copies, and appear almost never to have taken part in the forum apart from that. Speaking for myself, I have no interest in what they say about the products/services offered, but we all have to make up our own minds about that, of course.

If you have actual proof of faked reviews, you should use the report button and share your proof with the forum moderators.

Until you have proof of fake reviews, be careful with your accusations of wrong-doing.

a lot of the time a product seller will give away the first 100 copies of whatever for free in return for a positive review. I don't like the practice because it dilutes the effectiveness of the review process. like some of the pother posters said, use your own diligence. Just because the commercial said a KIA will last you for years, doesn't make it so.

I think there are some marketers that may engage people on fiverr to give fake reviews. I think i have seen a few though i can't prove.

Yeah don't buy it. But i pity those who buys and majority of them are newbies that wants to make money.

Exactly. These types of things are hard to prove. Me for example I launched my first product on this forum just over 32 days ago and got a ton of good reviews.

But I did that with no list or anything, and I didn't go around asking people to review my product. I just created a great product and charged $7 on a dimesale. I quickly got a ton of good reviews.

But it's very plain to see that it's hard to differentiate from what's real and what's not.

You really have to go with your gut on these things, and it just comes down to being in the trenches. I think all of us here have been hosed a couple times.

We quickly learn our lesson and know what to look out for next time, and eventually you just gain the ability to pick up on the scent of total BS.

But yeah - I would imagine there's a ton of less than ethical stuff going on. We are talking about people after all. People are known to do some wild things for a dollar.

The good news is - there are a ton of guys doing it right and who treat people right. And typically if they got page after page after page of good reviews... And they've been a member for a very long time...

It's hard to ignore 10 pages of testimonials. People who put on seminars and take private clients and have a ton of great feedback, with a reputation for delivering what they promise...

And a reputation for honoring their guarantee's... That's who you should go for. You just have to sort out the bad apples from the good ones.

Good luck trying to prove anything though. It's a matter of futility and will burn up your mental, physical and emotional energy.

Sure the forum tries it's best but in the words of Art Williams, "All you can do is all you can do."

Reviewers usually have a problem:

1.They don't want to offend the seller
2.They're feeling pressured to leave a positive review simply because they obtained a free copy
3.They leave a glowing review for the sake of using the product as an affiliate.

The truth is, every damn product on Earth has its flaws, whether it's a movie or soundtrack or software, hardware, WSO or other. Every reviewer *should* find something bad to say, even if it's minor or microscopic.

I wrote a few WSO reviews in the past that were 100% positive and glowing, only to avoid offending the seller and creating an awkward atmosphere...

But then I woke up.

Now I only provide HONEST reviews as opposed to "pressured" ones. Some sellers have not liked them very much, but that's the price of honesty.

Any shortcomings should be written constructively, professionally and respectfully. If revewers were willng to follow this simple rule, the WSO marketplace would be much healthier today. Sadly, most people are simply too afraid of providing constructive feedback.

I had a few review copies sent my way before, and instead of lying on the thread about some rehashed crap, I simply told the seller, ' I am not going to post a review and good luck with your WSO" and right away they say thank you for not posting a bad review.

Once in a blue moon, I will buy a bad product and let the seller know via PM, they would refund me before they replied, and without me even asking.

Alot of times I want to post something bad or take the seller to task, but don't want to create that "awkward atmosphere" like you said.

When I post a review, it's because it's something I like, and feel obligated to thank the seller for creating the product.

If it were an actual conspiracy then Alex Jones would create a documentary and plaster the truth all over Youtube. So we're safe on the conspiracy count anyway.

For the life of my I can't understand why people care so much about what happens in the WSO section. All you'd have to do on any given day is count the number of posts here where people are asking if stealing (they never actually use that word) is okay or some other black or gray hat dirty trick is a good idea. There are dozens of threads every week where people are looking for a consensus on whether they should commit varying degrees of fraud or some other lame-ass trickery.

With that in mind do you really think some WSO reviews are not fabricated? Many of the people on this forum see Internet Marketing as a smash and grab world where anything goes. That's the environment. So cooking up a review for a friend would have to seem like kids stuff, no?

So what does this mean? It means use your head. It means if the offer seems to be too good to be true then avoid it. It means if the offer is loaded with screenshots of fat bank accounts then pass on it.

It means if people are promising you'll make a certain amount of money by Friday then you need to run in the other direction really fast. It means that if you don't have some experience with the seller or that you don't recognize any of the reviewers then pass on the silly thing.

This ain't rocket science.

I think about that alot, but than reality hits. I know how stupid people can be online, so to avoid some clown ass seller stalking my every post, and making fake post or reviews, I just let others use their own judgement.

I do call people out on other stuff, don't get me wrong, but I rarely buy WSO's unless it's a tool I know I can use.

This reminds me of something me and my girlfriend did for an hour straight and laughed so freaking hard. Go to fiverr.com, and type in "Video Testimonial" then watch peoples "Work Samples" it is so freaking FUNNY to see these people endorsing things they have NO IDEA ABOUT! It also basically gives you a list of BS companies that actually paid for a fake testimonial. Don't be surprised if you recognize some of those companies! I wouldn't of wrote this, but their work samples are public so clearly both parties don't care.

Be careful what you pin down as fake vs solicited. If someone hands out review copies of a WSO, and asks for a review, that review isn't necessarily fake. It's simply a review. But if someone releases a WSO, then posts a review himself under another name, that's fake. Of course there are other ways to have fake reviews posted, but my point is to realize the difference between fake and honest solicitation.

(I didn't read all the replies yet, so if someone else made the same observation, don't smack me too hard :p )

Wherever there is money to be made some will try and game the system. It has nothing to do with WSOs or the forum.

There is a simple solution if you think something shifty is going on ... don't buy the product.

You can always check out the persons profile who made the review. You can then view all there past posts. If there an account that is made just to give reviews that will show. If there a new user without any real history on the WF you will see that as well.

Also use common sense when buying something. Dont be afraid to ask a question. In fact even if you dont have a question make one up and ask it anyway. The idea here is just to see how long the seller takes to respond. It will give you an idea of there service.

Last you can always PM a Warrior who made a review and ask them specifically what they liked about the product. If its a real genuine review they probably wont have an issues answering. Just keep in mind that if a lot of people do this they might not answer at all (because after a while they are sick of answering)

Lastly check if the product is for sale somewhere else. If it isnt then this is a product that was made just for the WF. This isnt even a WSO then because a WSO is suppose to be a product that exists outside the WF and is a special just for the WF. Look into the seller. Do they have a website for the product? Do they sell it else where? Do they have any videos , a fanpage for there company . .etc. A little research goes a long way.

One another forum I purchased a product and reviewed it. The product wasn't that good, but I tried to be nice in the review. Everyone else had written how wonderful it was which was surprising to me because it was crap.

The person wrote me back and asked that I please take it down because it was going to kill his sales. He said he would give me my money back and something else (I don't remember) but he was desperate for me to take down my honest review.

Ever since then, I have been skeptical. This was not an internet marketing forum but the concept still applies.

The scary thing about WSO's is they are all totally unregulated.......meaning anyone on here has the free will to bullshit you.....and it goes on on a massive scale.

Had the same conversation with Paul "zen redneck" Myers on here a few weeks ago, a total idiot who profits from this as a moderator and offers no guidance, regulation nor protection to innocent WF users whilst protecting his own business interests and profiting from your naivity.

This is no different from online pharmacies that sell Viagra. You never know what you're going to get, if you ever get the product, and if they're a fly by night operation. And many others fit into this category too. Just part of the online selling world. Try your best to filter out the fluff from the hard hitting content.

Yeah Paul doesn't profit from the WSO section as a moderator. None of the moderators are compensated.

I've seen you post similar things before. They should give you the boot already. Aside from the fact that you're not right about what you claim - it's simply annoying.
