Lead Generation: The best and cost effective way

I would like to know all the possible successful ways to generate leads for my software product Euraff. Here is a small background for you to understand the situation.

This is basically an affiliate software. But unlike other affiliate software it tracks all sales/leads and produce analytic reports. To some extent like Google Goal reports but here reports are more specific and the merchant has control. It automates revenue sharing deals with suppliers and biz partners too. It has a powerful but simple mass mailing tool as it just a add-on. Kept the price at lower end (considering the features it has).

We did not advertised much in past because I am a perfectionist type of person and did not want to do it unless I am confident about its stability. But the software is quite stable now and so looking forward to see leads as many as possible.

Sharing of your past experiences, suggestions, ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks
Lutfal

Well, the ways you would generate leads for a software product are the same methods you would use to generate leads for any product.

You said you did not advertise much in the past because you were perfecting your product. Well now that it's up to your standards, do the advertising you would have done.

To generate a lead you have two options to get them, and you have three options to convert them. Either you pay for advertising, or you put in time and manual labor to do content marketing, and you drive them to a site. That's really your only two options. They both involve figuring out where your ideal customer hangs out and getting in front of them.

Then to convert them into a lead, you either do 1) pure free lead generation and give away something for free that they might want (that ultimately educates them about your service) like a report or a video, or 2) you charge enough money to liquidate your ad costs and labor costs so you break even, or 3) you try to make money (actual ROI) on the front end by straight up selling your product immediately (called one-step selling).

Luckily online you can do all three at the same time by sending them to a squeeze page, taking them to a trial offer after they opt-in; free thing resells the trial offer or your product straight up; and in your trial or in your follow up emails you sell your product straight up.

    Those are your options

    Thanks
    Marc

Thanks Marc. I appreciate your quick reply.

I want to avoid (or keep at a minimum level) high cost paid adverts such as adwords at this moment because a single click will cost me more than $2. I believe our product is better than our competitors but still I do not expect higher conversion rate than our competitors simply because we are less popular. Most people use their emotion to buy, not logic. As it is a high involvement product so people will buy when they are educated. So I think going for labour oriented content marketing is better option for me. However I will always have a small budget for paid adverts at selected places.

Do you have an idea on opt-in marketing email list providers? I was thinking to run a campaign to send emails to world-wide e-commerce site owners. I do not have the email list. Nor I want to send unsolicited emails to them. So I am in search of an online opt-in email list provider. I will pay them on the basis of number of email I send. But I would like to send only people who have opted to receive emails from them for such product.

      Thanks

    Hi,

You need to FIND out where your ideal lead or future customer that has NEEDS
for your software programs are hanging out.

Figure that out and then all you'll need to do is get them onto a list where you
can further communicate with them, share your ideas, let them see what final
products you have to sell and of course convert those leads into paying customers.

It really is as simple as it sounds but I can guarantee that if you read every single
opinion on this thread right now...

...You'll more than likely get the dreaded "INFORMATION OVERLOAD"
syndrome and won't know what to do next.

    1. Targeted leads.

    2. Email list.

    3. K.L.T. - Get your leads to know, like & trust you.

    4. Sales - Get them to buy your stuff by showing them that your products can
help solve their problems or meet their NEEDS.

Agreed, you can't rely on just using your keyboard for lead gen. Sometimes, there's just no substitute for going old school and getting out there. That's a skill that has become lost in the online shuffle.

I see you have an affiliate program so perhaps you increase the number of affiliates you currently have.

I would get in touch with some of the top review sites for affiliate software. I'm sure in your business, many customers first check reviews before purchasing the product, so make sure you are amongst them.
