spamed / hijacked email address

Hello to all. This is my first post in this forum. I need a little advice. I have several web sites that I put my email address on for someone to be able to contact me. Problem is that someone has harvested those address and now I am getting spammed with everything from "The little blue pill" to watches. Is there anyway to stop those and how should I have put or listed my email address on my sites so customers can contact me for help or info? All advices is appreciated as it is getting very annoying getting lots of junk.

    No, in a word.

    If you are using webmail accounts then most have very good filters. You will need to go to the filters area and create many of them, blocking what you feel needs to be blocked or filtered (you will understand what I mean when you go to the appropriate area in your account). There is a learning curve involved, but at the end of the day you will cure the problem - but it will take time if you are inexperienced.

    The quick answer is to abandon those email addreses and replace them with new ones. Remembering to use the advice in the posts above, so as not to get the new email addresses harvested.

    I wish you luck in whatever course of action you choose.

    Thanks Traffic-Bug and Jeff. I will do some more research on preventing spam and I am incorporating the filters but it is taking a lot of time getting in all the different words to stop.
