Default Domain Age Checker tools, reliable?

Hey Warriors,

I did a search on past threads to find related posts on domain age checker but found
none.

Anybody has experience with the domain age tools you find on the internet
how to check domain age - Google Search

How reliable are they and what's the most accurate way to determine the age of a domain name?

Thanks

Joel

All domain age tools are pretty much the same, and reliable. You can also check the history of a domain at archive.org.

Have you tried Betterwhois.com? If you want to see how the site looked in the past, in case it's changed hands, use Wayback machine as Gene says at Archive.org

Betterwhois.com is great. Just used it to check on the site age and registration addresses of some of my competitors

Thanks guys. I settled with whois.com which shows the actual date domain was purchased and date of expiry. It's more clear cut in this manner.
