1.5 Million Youtube Views - Here is a GREAT tip...

A little while ago one of my niche youtube sites just had it's millionth view....

Not huge for some of those big YT hitters, but if you are running small niche sites - it's a BIG deal.

From that I have generated and siphoned out email lists, made sales and been able to use the stats as real case studies to show offline clients.

Many people are still just focusing on the advantages of ranking Youtube videos on Google for easy high listings - which is still a killer tactic but it does mean they are missing a really really simple trick that takes seconds to implement and can generate more and more traffic from within the walls of youtube itself.

So out of all that traffic what is the biggest thing I have learned to generate free traffic and increase my video views on youtube?

Well that my friends is
drum roll please..........

Related Youtube videos......
and has accounted for the majority of all my video views across the board.

So how do you take advantage of this?

Simple!

Just search inside Youtube for the MOST VIEWED video in your niche and swipe all of it's descriptive data.

The title, the tags and the description EVERYTHING.

Then, when you upload your videos (or any of ours....) just make sure to keep as much of it as similar as possible and tweak it just enough to make it unique to you and for your video.

I am not saying just go out there and rip off peoples description - that would suck.

But I am saying that by making it as close as possible to the most popular video in your niche you will certainly increase your chances of showing up in the related video section on that very page.

It's not hard folks, and most often than not the simplest tricks are the best.
So again, just tap in your niche and find the most viewed video and swipe it's data. Tweak it just enough to make it unique and relevant to you and hit play.
Give it a few days and see what happens, if it ranks well then your all set. If not just tweak a little more untill it does.

Now before you go and dash off here is another tip I want to share with you and that will make EVERYTHING work so much better.

Youtube has given us it's own internal analytic function as you probably know already but the real gem is the Audience Retention feature.

By adding links in or out side of youtube at the higher attention points, you can suck the most amount of traffic into your sales funnel.

Using this we can see exactly where we want to insert our call to actions and get visitors interacting with the video to help it go viral

You know those buttons that pop up and encourage people to click the link in their description ?? well if you insert those at just the right time you can get WAY more traffic from Youtube and on to your actual website, sales page or what ever it is you want to send them too.

Just make sure to check out your audience retention and implement a suitable video call to action to get the most out of your hard work.

Any hoo I hope ya dig it, understand it and you can benefit from it.
It's worked for me and It can work for you too

That was a trick that worked a long time ago and I had heard it didn't work anymore after YouTube changed things. Good to hear it still works. Thanks for the tips!

Great tips! I'm curious how long it took your niche site to hit the 1 million mark?

Great tips! I never thought about scraping and spinning descriptions. I'll have to try that on my next upload.

One of my channels just recently crossed the 1 million mark (Currently 1,175,833), it's pretty cool seeing roll over that 1 million bump.

Yes it's a great trick. I use it as well but for reasons unknown to me it not always works. It seems to me that only after a video gets a good amount of views will it have a chance to show in the related videos of a highly viewed video.

    I could be wrong though.

    • I also thought this was a trick a while back -- I'm not sure if you can still view the tags if you are not the owner of the video.

Youtube is a jack pot if you know how to use it.

I've generated over $25k from it in about 18 months.

People who aren't using it............. behind the ball...........

The new changes to YouTube though are knocking off the 'mobile views exploit' pretty much BUT if you know how to really market videos, you're ok.

I plan to do some new commission projects myself shortly.

I've been thinking of trying out video marketing on youtube and other video sites for a long time, and these tips sound pretty sound, but are there any places where a complete beginner could learn to start out with it properly?

I mean, not only to get more views, but also to learn about what to include in the video itself for example to make it both entertaining/funny and useful as a marketing tool.

Thanks for the share and good to know this works for you. That's just as valuable as the tip IMHO. It would seem really obvious that to be considered 'related' you'd want the descriptive content of your upload to be 'related', but these are the kind of tips that aren't always the top of someone's mind when they're busy uploading.

Actually, you can see the tags assigned to both YouTube video pages, and also Channel pages. I had never bothered to do this for a Channel, so I tested this just before posting this reply. Works fine. Essentially, use whatever resource you might have (Firefox has something built in) to view the Page Source. Then use FIND to search for the phrase "keywords".

Whatever "tags" the owner of the video/channel chose are there, in the page source. Very easy to find.

This is a trick webmasters have been using for years. It's not a new trick, just one your average internet marketer might not know if they don't actually build sites.

Also, use the name of popular channels in your tags. That also increases your chances to appear in the related videos.

hey guys thanks for the great feed back - some cool other tips in here too - we should keep this thread a 'rollin'

One of my smaller niches has just landed a home page ranking in google with over 23 million competing pages so yea this technique must still be working as once the views roll in and back links start a comin is all good the organic rankings
