If it's your first product.. you need to create and test it first.

Most big affiliates won't jump on board with you until they know you can create an offer that converts.

After your offer is up and you know it's conversion rates, and you've done some testing to increase those conversion rates.. start networking with website owners and seeking out affiliates in your niche.. let em know you have a high converting offer their list would love.

If you've already done the process once or twice... create a contest, list your product on product launch sites and give away some awesome prizes to your current and new affiliates.

Product launches are all about the affiliates, but being big out of the gate isn't likely for most new marketers, unless you already have a relationship with a big name marketer.

Start at the bottom and build a list of affiliates who know and trust you.

I'm sure it wasn't the answer you were looking for, but creating your product and optimizing it for high conversion rates is the best method to attracting big name affiliates. If you've got a few stacks of $10k sitting around you can go the PPC route and pay for all the traffic you need and not rely on affiliates.. that's not an option for most new marketers though.

Don't be put off, if you 'launch' and it's not a big success... you still have that product and some test results to move forward with. The beautiful part about IM is you can continuously launch your products to new lists.

First off Victor, do you mean no launch at all - just start promoting it immediately?

And Portlandrocks thank you soooooooooooooooo much for letting me know about those websites - that is better then any product because I can sign up to all of the pre-launches and see what they do and copy the process.
