Solo ads, forum signatures, and JV giveaways - they should all generate you a decent amount of traffic.

Use it in your signature. Also you can post it in this http://www.warriorforum.com/make-money-online/ section.

The exact same way you market a paid for book. Get it in front of as many eyeballs as possible. I prefer paid advertising with solo ads, ugly banner ads, PPC, etc.

I love solo ads, they're fast targeted traffic.

If you are going to market a free eBook, these are the best methods that you should be doing:

    1. Make it as a free WSO (include the link of your squeeze page) and build a list at the same time (but you need to pay $40 to list it). Also, make that free WSO as a signature and start being an active member of this forum.
    2. Warrior Classified Ads are also a good option to market your free eBook, it only cost you $20 to list it.
    3. Solo ads (cost depends on the person and the number of subscribers you are dealing with).

Hope this helps you man. Cheers!

What everyone said here is sound advice. But another thing you need to be mindful of is how you present the product or ebook. Don't promote it as a free product or ebook... Nor look at it that way personally.

Imagine you are creating a ebook you are selling for $97. Imagine all the content and care you are putting into that $97 ebook to keep your refund rates down. Now that you have your $97 ebook complete... Write a sales letter (or have a copywriter do it for you) that entices someone to buy your $97 ebook. All of that complete? Now slash the price to free... And explain in a small blurb on your sales letter why you are giving it away... But reiterate its true cost.

All of this matters WAY more than what avenue you use to promote the ebook. Free ebooks are great things.. But to be truly successful you need to have the right mindset and understanding. This starts with "I'm not writing a free ebook" because otherwise your, your customers, and your copywriters expectations will all be lower than they should be.. And the product will most likely be crap that isn't read and wasted your, your customers, and your copywriters time.

Youtube is a great way to give out free ebooks, both with and without opt-ins. If your books are in the internet marketing niche and they don't require an opt-in, the war-room is another great place I guess.

You could also give MRR or giveaway rights to your books so people start distributing them too. If you have affiliate links in them, you can get a nice chunk of cash out of their efforts.

If they require opt-in though, get a WSO or a classifieds ad. Facebook pages and other social marketing mediums work great too. So do PPC and media buys.

Go where your target audience hang out, and let the word spread about your book.

Put it on Kindle and get some KDP free days.

Then pay a bunch of People on Twitter to promote it to their book clubs.
