Hi,
Recently I decided to earn some marketing capital by visiting local businesses. I took Dan Preston's advice on this forum to offer to create opt-in forms for people. A Chiropractor responded to my letter and I'll be visiting him tomorrow with plans to offer to set him up with a form and autoresponder. His site is clean but very plain. Probably "state of the art" about 10 years ago. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I could price my services and how I can keep this customer for the long term. Thanks for your help. p.s.-I was unable to post a link to his site because I am still new to the forum, but if anyone is interested please send me a PM and maybe I can send it to you. |

I'd not go for setting up an opt-in form but the benefits to having an online client base that are ready and willing to hear their offers and purchase from them. What you can do in order to help them is to maintain the list for the client and send out 1 newsletter a month and maybe 1 promo. You write them..proof them to your client and get paid monthly. You have control of their customers so they'll be happy to keep paying you provided you do a good job. Fees are down to you but I'd suggest $500+ a month.
Good luck. Rich |

Hi Rich,
Thank you very much for your advice. This puts it into a whole new perspective. When I look at it this way, I think I would really be underselling myself if I just went in and set up a form. This is a big help. Thanks. p.s.-I'm thinking maybe my services could include a 1 hr consultation every month. |

Since he has an existing site I think it is important that you:
- Find out what results/responses he's getting at the moment (problems, complaints - Find out what results he's looking for (opens doors) - Find out how involved he or his staff wants to be in the site maintenance (mabye CMS redesign) - Show him how you can solve these issues (income now and ongoing) And close the deal! LOL Jens |

Hi,
Thanks Jens. I will try to do those things. It looks like my greatest task is to do this all in 15 minutes or so ![]() When I sent him a letter I said "If I could just have 15 minutes of your time". So I guess I could use that time to qualify him and then set up another appointment. At first I was just going after the idea of simply charging $200 or so to create an opt-in form and autoresponder account for him. But now, however, I am starting to learn how I can offer long-term services. Thanks for your help. I'll now be taking the time to evaluate his current situation before presenting my service options. Definitely don't start with the price. Get him pre-sold on this, and see if you can get some ideas about what he wants to spend ahead of time. Find out what he sees as the value in this in addition to telling him what you think would be valuable.

and the 15 minutes may be an hour (unless he has patient appointments after. If you interest him enough you will get the extra time/appointment as his site obviously isn't working well enough.Delayed gratification: instead of a little money now maybe lots more later. Jens
