Competitor keywords best practices

Hi All
What methods (paid or free) do folks use to find out what keywords their competitors are ranking for.

I'm building a couple of new sites, and want to get a feel for what my closest competitors are ranking for to see what I need to do.

I'm not schooled in what the best practices are for this.

    I think the best tool for you to check the keywords ranked by your competitors is Backlink Snatcher. It is a paid standalone software which can check everywhere on where did they put their backlinks and the keywords they are using.
