    Hey mguy,

That is a good question but it has too many answers. The reason is because each person has different schedules.

In my first e-report that I bought "The Lost Blueprint" (not affiliate link), Kyle Tully talks about working 4 hours a day. 2 hours on your sales funnel and 2 hours on traffic generation. Some people can do this, some people can't.

The number of hours each person spends depends on how much stuff they have going on in their life. I work from home exclusively so I have all day long. I was not like that 3 months ago. At that time, I worked 2-4 hours depending on the night of the week.

What you need to look at is what your time commitments are and then plan your business around that.

I have a 5 step planner process that helps plan out my time, if you are interested, I am willing to share.

    John

    It depends
If i just want to do the daily routine i need 2-3 hours but i always want to learn and do more for my business so its kinda random from 6 to 8+ hours or even all day if i am in love with a project

Normally do about 8 but I would say only 2 of them are productive. Although my time management Chrome extensions are really helping to get that up.

55 hours a week most weeks. It goes by quickly which must mean I'm enjoying what I'm doing. Work a part time job with a great hourly wage for guaranteed income every month. You only get out of something what you put into it.

Sometimes as much as 20 hours a day, sometimes as low at zero. All depends. But I also don't look at it as "work"

Not nearly as many as I used to. The first three years or so it was 18-20 hours a day, six or seven days a week.

But I also don't look at it as "work"
This. Work ain't work if you're having fun.

I have very special routine as I work on an oil platform too. While at work I have 12 hours working time and lots of free time so I use it smartly.
Can say that while on board work 8 hours online (my job position give me possibility to have internet access 24/7).
When I'm on vacation depend of the activity I have in my home and also of the weather and the season.
Summer time I'm not really active but have all on autopilot. Just checking emails in the morning and some times evening.
Winter also not too much because I love snowboarding so I spend my free time on the mountain.
Autumn is best time to work online even I'm at home because autumn is always a wet season.

No more than an hour a day. I run an e-commerce business so there is a ton of work being done, it's just not being done by me. Probably every year, I figure out a way to take something off my plate.

This is kind of a personal decision though....I still work full-time and have 3 small kids. Everything I focus on is high-level.

I do a lot of email/text with people though, but it doesn't consume me. Small stuff here and there throughout the day.

As many as I can because I f-ing LOVE IT!!

But probably about 5-7 hours a day as that is all I have available to me since I have 4 kids, I take one to school, go to the gym, pick him up from school, have my juice, am always taking another one to soccer, playing baseball myself, helping with bath time, helping other people I love in my family or real close to me start online businesses because they need the money, etc.

    I work from home

P.S. It's 435 AM where I am and I just woke up after passing out on my couch downstairs and guess what I'm doing... But remember I love what I do.

The amount you spend depends the amount you
are willing to invest in your online project. If you
have a big project coming up soon, you will need
to spend more than you do with online.

Full time Imers spend almost 20 hours, while others
spend less. To me it depends what I'm currently doing
online at that moment either researching on a new project
which can take me about 3 hours or more, doing some
updates on my site or looking for new clients etc.

Basically the amount you spend online determines
what area of IM you are currently working on.

That's a super great question, but tough to answer.

If you asked how many hours do I NEED to work each day, at this point I would say about an hour or two per day tops.

However, you asked how many hours a day DO I "work" - and the answer is probably more like 6 or 7 hours a day. I don't see it as work because I love it and I am a "knowledge a-holic" and love to learn about new things as well as keep up with, and help, people I am in contact with.

Sure, at this point, I could be fine with an hour or two each day...and I even take days off in a row when I feel like it...but all in all, I spend more than that on my online business activities each day on average.

But I'll be totally honest with you - when I first started and was trying to get to "here", if my eyes were even half open, I was working. It takes time and many hours/days/months of feeling like your eyes are bleeding to get to the magical point of only NEEDING to work an hour or two a day. However, if you want it badly enough, you do it.

I have quite the schedule set up - split into content creation and traffic generation etc..

at the moment, I spend 55 hours a week on my business, which I think is a decent amount. I'm now working on freeing up some of that time by outsourcing the tedious tasks so I can pour more effort/be more laser focused with my efforts knowing that all of my 'editing' is being done by others.

I work about 8 hours p/day on my real estate site. The site is designed to eventually take the #1 spot for 3 different local real estate terms. Almost all of my time is spent on content generation now as I've pretty much got the look of the site finalized and have daily work flow streamlined as much as it's going to get without finding help to do the content creation.

Eventually I'll have someone doing this full time and I'll just follow up with the leads that are generated. Right now I'm doing everything. I'd probably work even more if I didn't have another job that I have to go to to keep the bills paid.

Most of the time about 8 to 10 hours a day but that could easily turn into 15 hours a day if I am working on a project.

I sometimes take Sundays off to watch some football but as you see it's Sunday and I am here now...

But I should take a day off every now and then which I do but not as often as I should...

Its hard when I always feel as if I do not have enough time in the day to get things that I need to get done and thats with a full team of outsources and 2 full time employees and a support staff...

The more time you invest in setting up a business the more outcome you will get!

So...to setup a new business (anything online) it takes me few month to research (up to 6 month), couple of weeks to setup, couple of days to test, and couple of hours a day to monitor.
