    Hey mmgble,

I am not sure what Business Kick Start from Simon is but I can say that being willing to learn is important.

The first thing that you need to decide is how you want to make money online.

This forum has every kind of business model listed here. Take time to research each one before you make that decision.

Once you make the decision, then you will have the foundation to start asking the right questions to get the framework of how to build that business model.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.

    John

    Edit:

I did some research into the InternetBusinessKickStart.com and it looks like they are offering a coaching program.

I have been on this forum long enough to know that there are several training programs and have used some of them and personally can say that you will have to jump in and see if it works for you.

    Good luck on this.

I would immediately sign up for Marketingwithalex.com (not my site) and save yourself a lot on time money and heart ache.

Wish someone would have given me that advice when I started.

MarketingwithAlex.com is one of the training programs that I use. It is very useful and beneficial.

I would highly recommend that one.

Another vote for Marketing with Alex. It's cheap to sign up and has a ton of great information.

I don't know much about Marketing with Alex, but if you are interesting in trying out the niche site business model for starting your online income portfolio, you can get all the info for free via the Thriftypreneur niche site case study.

My suggestion is to find a mentor/coach that will teach you what you want to learn. Be willing to learn and take action.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[8254309].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Paul Moss
Continuing with what Ken says, taking action is really the only method. A lot of people buy WSO's, listen to countless hours of training and reading. But yet, they do nothing.

Be sure to stick with one thing, master it and then expand your knowledge base.

    Good luck!

Please do not waste your time. Follow the steps:

    1. Take a deep bathe.
    2. Sit in a quite place with a pen and paper
    3. List everything you can do. Do not care if its possible through online or offline. List as may as possible, do not ignore any simple task too.
    4. Once you are done with listing, go through your list 3 times. And think deeply which you can do online.
    5. Short out the selected option [perhaps 2 or 3]
    6. Think about its pros and cons
    7. Do some internet research about #6
    8. Now think do you really need training on this area? If yes, go buy some tutorial/guide stuffs.
    9. Implement your idea!

    So the zest is:
    Think-----------------Learn--------------Take action

    Hope that helps.

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. I hope this post brings some clarity. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

      1. Products
      2. Services

      That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

      Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

      1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

      2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

      3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

      Pick just ONE!

      1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

      2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

      3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

      F -- Follow
      O -- One
      C -- Course
      U -- Until
      S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

      Hope this helps!

    @Michelle,

That is one awesome post and definitely some valuable information. I have had two mentors that I worked with and I have learned a lot from both of them. They have taught the same business model in one aspect but I have learned different things from both as well.

I did not spend $1500 but I definitely agree with Michelle on this one.

MarketingWithAlex.com taught me a lot about list building and the marketing funnel process. He gave such a huge overview of what a million dollar funnel would look like and I should have known it from all my studying and learning but never connected the dots until his program.

    That is my two cents.

    Have a good night all.

Also, beware of the shiny object syndrome! Meaning, don't go around buying product after product because they look good. Pick one method then dedicate time and effort to making it work. Concentrate on that one method until it works. That is how you will be successful.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[8254767].message }}

Agree with xismfofx22 on the shiny object syndrome. Choose your program/ course/ mentor or whatever and stick with it. Make sure you apply what you learn and if it doesn't work don't see it as a failure. Learn from it and adapt.

If you start chasing all the hype and pies in the sky you will divide your focus and you'll waste valuable time on things that's not really necessary in the beginning. Make sure you do your daily tasks for whatever first (like optimizing, getting traffic, promoting, making videos etc). Stay focused. It might be difficult but just do.

About choosing a program/ training... Pick one that you feel comfortable with. One that really interests you and makes you tick. Something you can relate to.

If you can get a mentor all the better. Being 'checked up' on in the beginning and helped to focus on the important aspects of online marketing will speed up the process of you making money online.

But you just have to focus on what Michelle shared above. Awesome info and advice!

I wish all the luck in the world man. Head down and make it work!

    Hi mmgble,

I'd definitely suggest you get a mentor or join a membership site of some kind, everything will take off a lot quicker and you'll have the support that's so important. I used the Chris Farrell membership and it's been amazing, he explains everything so simply and really tells you what you need to do to build up a business in this industry.

        Hi MMgble.

Hope you are doing well. When i first started researching about making money online, i came across ericstips.com . He is a well known ethical marketer, and has tons of free training videos on his website. I would highly recommend you to check it out.

It walks you thru everything from mindset, to product creation, methods, traffic, everything.

        Good luck man

Hi mmgble... as with anything new there is a bit of a learning curve involved in getting up to speed and finding the areas you'd like to work in. This website is a great resource.. lots of information.. lots of good people to help you out and give advice... but in the end.. you have to take action. you have to do something. Unfortunately, there is so much choice... so many shiny new objects... it's easy to get distracted and lose focus.

So what might keep you on track and teach you what you need to know in a short amount of time... well why not take the 30 Day Challenge. You'll gain a lot of practical knowledge in a short time frame and then you can decide what to do from there. Hope this helps.

Hi, and congrats to you our new member!

As you probably already know there are tons of guides and people looking to point you in the right direction. I'll say to do this... After you find what you want to do and are very specific about it, it'll be time to get focused. Most fail online because they try to learn every method that can make them money. Don't try to be a dentist, martial artist and astronaut. Focus is very important.

Once you've chosen something then Join the "War Room" right here on the Warrior forum and search within there. You'll save LOTS of money and time. The ability to stay focused on one single method is your ladder out of here. I promise you this.

Awesome job on reaching out by the way; raising your hand is the best way to start, asking the right questions can get you there faster than you imagine. Keep positive and constructive and you will make faster than most.

Find your strengths and hone in on them, if it's writing follow that path, if it's video then focus on that. Just don't lose focus.

Also don't buy these courses thinking they are your get rich formula because none of them are. Look at them as just education and you'll be much better off. There is value in what you know and that's how you truly make it.

    GIVING VALUE

The more valuable you are to others, the more others will value you and be willing and ready to rip their pockets off to pay you for your expertise.

Good luck and keep reaching out.

Again, Welcome to the Warrior Forum

Nightengale (post 12) has given a great answer.Read it at least twice.
Making money on Internet takes times. Don't believe anyone telling you this can be achieved overnight.
If I coud give an advice it would be this:
Whatever you choose to do in the IM,choose something that makes you feel good.
Otherwise it will become another job for you.
