When Asking For A Refund...

Are you a complete jerk about it?

I had a guy email me and ask for a refund then proceeds to insult me and my product. The kicker is it was a WSO that clearly states, "No Refunds" and I post my "no refund" policy in clear view directly below the buy now button.

I think if you're going to go against a clearly stated no refund policy then you should at least be nice about it. We're all human and you catch way more flies with honey. Why don't people know this?

Because some people are born that way. They simply like to argue and prove they are right, even if they are wrong. You can't win an argument with people like that and it is pointless to even try.

Some people drink vinegar every day of their lives.

You cannot do anything to help them see a better way.

Did you tell him he was a XXXXX who couldn't read, go on a rant about people who are time wasters and tell him you'd rather eat a brick than go against your word as an honest man trying to earn an honest living?

I would have. He's asking you to go against your word and your policy and he should know it's highly unappreciated.

I still would have refunded the jerk, but he wouldn't have gotten away without knowing my opinion.

He's probably the same guy out there sharing your content for free(theoretically speaking)

Agreed. I had another Warrior PM me a nasty message over a product that he bought from me (a product that has gotten nothing but tons of positive feedback). He insulted me personally, which I thought was over the top, because he didn't know anything about me on that level.

Like go ahead and write "your product sucks", I've got thick skin, I can take that. But when he went into the personal attacks, it just seemed pathetic.

I laughed it off and gave him a refund even though he didn't ask for one. If someone is that unhappy with my product, I don't want their money.

People like that are miserable and they try and project their misery onto you.

But I agree with you, people should at least be cordial. I don't see any point in being rude about it. It accomplishes nothing except raise their own blood pressure.

It's not about the money, I could care less about the money. It's about how he did it and how he's a complete a-hole. I would have given him one if he weren't such a complete dummy.

Totally agree, I just added that detail about the money. Like Bill wrote, some people "drink vingear" everyday.

    • You say...

I had a guy email me and ask for a refund then proceeds to insult me and my product.
But then you make a public post about it and state this?

It's about how he did it and how he's a complete a-hole. I would have given him one if he weren't such a complete dummy.
Do you think that at this moment you are sounding better than your customer?
