Default I M & WF Virgin

I've been lurking on this site for about 2 months now and decided to make my first post. I've learned a great deal about IM in this time. I've also had my head spinning with knowing what's real and what's not.

I've just completed my first books, the main book is not a e-book, but a 280 page book about being a man and creating success and two Journal workbooks which are 60 page e-books. . I'm finishing my first website and will offer the main book as a paid download until I can generate enough to self-publish, the two Journals are free e-books. Interested in ways to market the books.

I also have a great niche market with little competition. The niche is, oh wait, I guess I shouldn't mention it yet right? Anyway, my head is spinning from the WSO I see.

I have over 30 years as a Regional Director of a small business development center and as a small business start-up instructor for a major university and many years as a management consultant with a top 3 international CPA/Management Consulting firm.

So why is my head spinning? I am a virgin in IM'ing. When I look at the WSO's my radar comes up and says this can't be real, Newbie's make $4,000 per month in just 4 weeks, and on and on. Each one has great testimonies etc... How, as a virgin do I tell the real one's from junk? I have no interest in wasting my money so I use the search function well. But what I'm finding is: few step by step instructions.

One of my biggest weaknesses is, yes I will admit it, is organization. I am very dominate right brain. I think in ideas, creative way, dreams, and possibilities. My struggle and Warrior Task is organization. I should mention that I am also a 30 year instructor in the martial arts, so I understand discipline. But to be honest, I am challenged by organization.

How do those of you who have created success in IM organize what you do, from article writing, starting a new campaign, launching a new site and creating and adding content to your WP blog?

I hold the knowing that I will create success with IM.

Thanks so much for your assistance.

First welcome to the forums.

Just like you I had some problems with organization too, but I have learned to stick to simple tasks that I can complete each day that take me closer to the goal. You can definitely make good money if you know what you want, and you see the steps required to get there. Good luck!

Z.

I don't see a problem. You've got 30 years instructing martial arts? You KNOW focus.

My suggestion is JUST DO IT... Just get started with a 'start up plan' --there are dozen on the WF site.

Then fix, adjust, improve and add as you progress --again, with ideas from here. I think you'll do fine working with something you have all that experience with.

Success,
Sam

Yeah, I'm also a martial arts Vet, and you should now focus, but even more important: your mindset.

As for the product, 280 pages is a lot. Make sure that this is what your market want.

I have been a member of this site for about 4 months and I can tell you, eBook marketing is what they specialize in for IM training.

www.yourwealthyaffiliatepro.com

You are correct, there is a lot of junk out there and you need to focus on what it is you want to make money with.

I like www.tactictester.com for great reviews of products before you buy.

Article writing is the way to promote your eBooks; I know I have a whole site full of eBooks for sale.

Make sure you write your articles based around these 4 rules. Use primary keywords or phrases, Primary Synonyms, LSI Topics (related themes) and Primary / LSI Keywords. This will rank your articles to the top of Google and you will get all kinds of traffic back to your eBooks sites.

Good Luck.

Thank you all for the great advice. One thing that you will soon learn about me is when I set a goal I accomplish it. I compete against myself, I am setting a goal to generate $1,000 from IM in the next six weeks starting with nothing other than this forum. This is my current Warrior Task.

I am focused which is the reason I finally posted instead of just looking, I'm taking action and not sitting on the sidelines. My main book has been several years in the making and a ton of research, it was not designed to be an e-book. In order to publish it the way I want takes capital, not a lot but more than I currently have. Which is why I will start off selling it as a download.

I do love writing and will focus attention on article writing as I set-up my sites and blog. One thing I have found is there is a lot of use of acronyms, many of which I am not familiar with. Is there some guide that list many of the commonly used acronyms used in IM'ing.

Besides article writing, my focus will be on my main book website and my niche site. Because my main book was not designed as an e-book, but the journals have been, are there some do's and don'ts I need to be aware of in marketing the main book?

Thanks.

Welcome to the WF.

280 pages is NOT too large to be an ebook. I can think of two that size that were huge successes.

As for WSO's, well most should be viewed with healthy skepticism, IMHO. There are good ones but they're hard to spot sometimes.

Reputation of the seller is key but not easy to ferret out for a newcomer. As a VERY rough rule of thumb for due diligence look at the sellers post count, then compare that with length of time on the forum. A high post count with a very short time of membership would lead me to the next step: what kind of posts does this seller make? If he primarily posts in order to promote his WSO's, I might be suspicious. There are many here solely to make money from WSO's and for some, it's their primary or sole business.

Hi Paul,

thanks for the rule of thumb that is very helpful. So you don't think 280 pages is to large? I had some concerns about it myself. It is the only way to get my work out so I have to go that way. So the information that I am finding for marketing e-books would be applicable to any size e-book? Or are there some special considerations for one over 200 pages?

Thanks
