Help getting traffic from Youtube to website

Hi

I uploaded a video on youtube just over a week ago. It's had around 3500 views, most of them paid for, some from social networks etc. Problem is it hasn't brought me any traffic to my website at all. I have a call to action "check out the website" at the end of video, I have a similar message around halfway through, I have a link in the description, but still not one visitor to my main website.

What am I doing wrong? Anything else I can do?

Ad an annotation to your video and make it a direct link to your website. Have it pop up at a point in the video where the viewers attention should be highest to get more clicks.

Call to action yes do you have the call to action xis is talking about. Also you can offer them something for clicking. Unknown what your video is though so depends on that.

If possible, give them a reason to go to the site. Instead of just saying "check out the site" tell them why.

    Examples:
Check out the site for free samples
Check out the site for special promotion
Check out the site to get (fill in the blank)
Check out the site for your first lesson
    Etc.

A call to action, as you mentioned is very important. Make sure it's obvious. Also, make sure your description link is visible (above the fold...so they don't have to click 'show more').

Only show part of the video right before it gets good and then put click here to see the whole video.

You also mentioned that a lot of your traffic was paid for.

If you bought bad traffic, that could be a reason why none of it 'converted' to website visitors.

thanks for the replies... here's a little more info.

The video is only about 1:40 mins long and it's pretty decent quality in terms of editing and content. If anything maybe it's a bit too polished - not sure.

I have annotations with "To get your free offer, check out our website for a free offer" or words to that effect, at the end of the video, and in the part where the most viewers are.

As far as I know, I don't think you can make annotations link to external websites.

The paid traffic is from Youtube ads itself. It's targeting well.

Something's not quite working with it though, just can't figure it out. I wasn't expected tonnes of traffic but at least a few clicks for over 3000 views.

I wouldn't count on those paid numbers to be real people.... Most of the time its bots just to get your view count up.

      Even from Youtubes own ads?

    Hi,
You won't need to pay for traffic. How many videos do you have on your channel? The more videos you have the better your odds of getting traffic to your site.
    I also like hustlinsmoke's idea.
    Good luck

Its because you bought the traffic and its probably not targeted at all. You should make vids that actually rank in the serps for your website topic.
