How do I get this redirect?

I hope this doesn't sound confusing, but I'm gonna try and explain what I'm trying to accomplish as simply as I can...

On most squeeze pages, after a person enters their email on the page, they are redirected to an affiliate offer. Pretty standard.

But I've noticed that after someone enters their email on some squeeze pages, they are redirected temporarily to a page that says "Check your email inbox soon for a surprise. You're being redirected to the video now".

Then what happens is they're redirected to the video automatically. Of course I'm speaking generally, but this is what happens.

The reason I'm trying to accomplish this is to increase open rates on my emails I'm sending my list, since I've noticed open rates have been down lately.

But does anyone know how to do this? I have hostgator so any help would be appreciated.

      It happens to me also - open a job in Odesk after 2 hour of frustration, then solve it myself with 2 minutes of "seeing the light"

    It's just a simple page with a header redirect/refresh in it that redirects after a certain period of time.

    You need to decipher whether it is your open rate that is poor or people are actually putting in bogus email addresses. People obviously can't open your emails if they have entered a fake email address and putting this page in the middle won't fix that problem.

    So first of all I would make it clearer on your squeeze page that the freebie is going to be sent to them via email. That way they are more likely to enter a valid email address. This is important if using single optin which it sounds like you are.
