      You can have all them sources come to a 'different' sign up page.

      1) Email marketting --> www.YourSalespage/1.com
      2) 7 Search PPC --> www.YourSalespage/2.com
      3) Facebook PPC --> www.YourSalespage/3.com
      4) Classified Ad posting --> www.YourSalespage/4.com
      5) Youtube --> www.YourSalespage/5.com

      all sales pages would be the same, but by placing a invisible counter on all pages, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 you would be able to identify where the 'sales' are coming from.

      After finding out which source is working best, then concentrate on that and do more of it.

        Asking the user is probably the worst way to do it.

        Firstly a lot of users won't fill out the option and/or may leave it on a default. Others may be put off by the fact that you are tracking them is being pushed in their face.

        I would set up one landing page for each campaign (they can be identical to start with), and measure the number of visitors & conversion rate for each as shown in the videos below.

        Please note: A counter on each landing page is NOT enough in my opinion, as it is quite possible that you might find that one campaign gets a lot of visitors but few buyers, and another campaign gets fewer visitors but many more buyers. You need a method - as in the video - which tracks the visitor through the sales process.

          He is probably talking about using a ID on each link sent out from X landing page.

          Most networks/products allow you to work with SUB ID's.

          If you don't want to setup Prosper or other tracking software and just do things manually you can create separate landing pages and use SUB ID's in the out-links.

          So, Facebook would go to domain.com/f/ and the link out would be product.com/id/f/ and so on...

    I would use a different sales/squeeze page for each traffic source. Then you know exactly what is going on.
    1. Create a sales page and identify it as "facebook traffic"
    2. Use opt in form after sale and use a webform code that you have identified as "facebook traffic"
    3. Repeat for each traffic source
    4. Then look to see which webform gets the most signups - thats your best source

    Set a "goal" in Google analytics. It will tell you what is converting.

    Or use Prosper202.

    I personally love Ad Trackz Gold. Here's a link to it: Ad Trackz Gold - Ad Tracking Software - Easily track which of your traffic sources are effective.

    I've been using this tracking software for about a year now and I LOVE it.

    It's allows me to track every part of my sales funnel all in one area. I can track the number of clicks I receive, where the click came from, how many of those visitors subscribed from that specific traffic source, all the way to how many sales I generate from that traffic source.

    It even allows you to track the sales made from your email follow up sequence. However, I believe you'll have to content support or the developer of the software to get the script that will allow you to track subsequent email sales.

    Hope this helps you.
