Best Way To Attract Affiliates...

I have asked this question in a few different places and the answers are very interesting....

What do you see in a product launch that makes you want to promote it?

Sales page, Commissions, OTO, EPCs, Contests, anything else? I'm curious to know what the deciding factor is that makes you want to promote a certain product launch over another?

The major factor for me is whether the product will be
    massively useful to my subscribers.

If it doesn't meet that criterion, I don't give a rats ass
    what the commission is.

I think 1 on 1 networking is the best way to attract affiliates. Get out there in those little skype groups and see what's available.

As far as what I promote, it's all about what's relevant to my list.

    That's easy...

    1. Relevant/useful and proven value for my list and followers
    2. Ideally someone I know or who has a good reputation - 90% of the cases I promote from people I have met or who someone I know and trust has worked with
    3. Professional affiliate program - operationally and good marketing tools+content
    4. Good commission opportunity with perference for > $40 and/or recurring - but I have promoted products that break this rule if #1-3 are met

An excellent product! Remember, my reputation is on the line when I recommend anything. And its more than just about a product. I am helping brand that person at the same time. The commission is inconsequential, although it is a proceed I can live with. As a matter of fact, I have recommended products where I received nothing at all because of how impressed I was with the course and how I felt it could help my list! My two cents.

Having a great product always helps.

A good price point and high commissions is also good.

Although affiliates should give a lot of attention to whether or not the product is of quality and a great fit for their list, the reality is most don't. They are only concerned about the dollars that end up in their bank account at the end of the day. So keep that in mind. The more attractive the offer the more affiliates you will attract.

    1. Affiliate Tools
Non cheesy graphics, banners, rebrandable PDFs or software.

    2. 50% and more in Commissions - INSTANT (not delayed.)
Also the JVZOO system of getting paid for EVERY sale is way way better than WarriorPLus when they "rob" you of the first sale.

    3. Demos, Review Copies are of tremendous help!
Some vendors have their aff page filled with "look at me how i promote" images and NOT A WORD about their product - INSTANT NO GO for me!

    4. Commissions that allow me to offer cool and real bonuses.
LOL...see those dumb reviews online where they offer $5000 for a $17 WSO...i always laugh my pants off when i see that stupidity!

    5. Smart Sales funnel

    6. Recurring commissions are good!

    7. Hard Coded Cookies and re-targeting system - preferred!

    Those are my criteria!

A good product that will help an affiliates list grow their business would be top of my list, remember most people are WIIFM (Whats In It For Me).

Hope this helps, and good luck

Most affiliates are concerned with high commissions, and products that convert (high EPC).

I don't think there is standard way, other than common sense. Good commission, proof that the product works, and the reliability of the merchant.

attracting affiliates is down to a few things

for instance if it's a wso that you are trying to get affiliates for then:

    1. a good product always helps

    2. half decent sales page (epc is often irrelevant because it can be manipulated by sending a lot of your own pre qualified traffic)

    3. if you want more affiliates then give 100% commissions

    4. having upsells help because it means more money for your affiliates

    5. having a good name on the forum for creating good products helps too that way more affiliates
    will want to promote

I will say that although having a good product is important many people don't even look at the product before they promote it, as long as they make some good money that's all that matters most of the time

So if someone (hint hint) was to launch a product as a WSO that they really believed was a solid product, and gave 100% commission front end at $7-$10 with 50% OTO at $17...would that draw interest? Also would offering a review copy to affiliates help so they know the product is worth promoting to their list? I agree with Paul that EPCs can be manipulated if the seller is sending only their traffic. Is there anything else someone who may be interested in attracting affiliates could do?

I don't really go by EPC's unless I'm looking at products that have already launched. If they are in prelaunch they obviously have no stats.

I browse launch boards and look for products that match what my list wants the most and buys the most often. Even if other types of products and sub niches are excellent products, if they don't respond to them there is no point. Then when I find matches I see who the seller is and their reputation and if I have any of their previous products or have promoted for them before. If they consistently put out good products and good customer service, then I'll sign up as a JV. Most of the products I promote are ones I want to buy myself, so if there is no review copy I'll just buy a copy. Always better to know what you're recommending and why, beyond just what the sales page claims.

Being high quality and relevant to my list is more important than exact commission, as it'll convert higher than other products anyways. That said, of course 100% instant adaptive payments and 50% on high price upsells ($27 to $97) is best of course.

Good JV pages and tools help also. Giving bonuses affiliates can give away.

    Here are a few ideas:

    1) Submit product to Clickbank, Paydotcom, JVzoo

    2) Advertise your affiliate program on the login pages of Clickbank sites

    3) Submit to the affiliate directories

    4) Create a "earn money with my affiliate program" link at the bottom of your site.... near the Terms, Disclaimer, and Privacy statement. You can simply label the link as "Affiliates" or "Affiliate Program".

    5) Promote it to your email list

    6) Promote it in any digital product that you sell or offer for free

The number one, and really only criteria for me, is the 'quality' of the product.

I value my reputation too much to offer garbage products to any of my subscribers.

And there are more products than ever coming out that are appalling bad.

It's sad to see so many big name 'guru' types lowering themselves by pitching products to their list that are total rubbish!

I know because I'm on many of those lists, and I see it daily.
