Hi all,
I know a talented film maker and someone who'd do great voice work, reckon I could write a bit of copy. Is there a market for youtube ads for local businesses? I'm thinking giving restaurants an ad they could link to on their menus, websites etc.
Just thinking out loud - anything in it?

Appreciate your input,
Dogsled

Great idea but it would have traction if you threw in a little 'local SEO' angle into it. Chances are high that if the metropolitan areas you are targeting aren't saturated by local SEO for the particular cuisines of the restaurants you're pushing, you can rank fairly easily using YT.

As far as advertising is concern, it should be shown within your target area.

With YouTube video ads you can choose who view your ads and locations.

one other thought - people go on youtube mostly for entertainment or for "tutorials". They look for something that will either amuse them or educate them.

It's unlikely they'll go online to watch ads... so, if possible, make the ad either amusing or educational, therefore giving the viewers a reason to carry on watching it when they stumble upon it.

As a side note, ads can go viral if they're *really* amusing. I've never seen an "educational" ad go viral ;-)

    ciao!
