Hi,
I was thinking of taking my blog posts and turning them into podcasts and videos but I have a couple questions.
1) should I link to my blog post in the description of the video or directly to my amazon affiliate link?
2) for the title of the video can I use the same title I used for the blog post or should I change it?
3) how do I rank the video?

Thanks

Linking directly to amazon isn't allowed.

Its advisable that you use a different title.

    1) i don't know about amazon policy, but if you promote clickbank you can send visitor directly to to the sales page and i think it's work for clickbank.. don;t forget to cloak your link
    2) for the tittle is up to you but you must put keyword at your video file
    3) to rank the video you need backlink, and also some people says you need view and comments, but for me backlinks are enough

    1) Depends on how you're selling... if the video is a soft sell and people would need more info link it to your blog. If your blog would just be "in the way" of the purchase link directly to amazon.

consider though that reciprocal links can help the rank of a video, so linking to your blog and having a link from your blog to the video could help your video get a better ranking. Jujst some food for thought.

    2) the most important thing is to have the relevant keywords in the title, so if you have them in the blog title go ahead and use the same, I don't know of any reason why youtube would penalize you for that. in youtube search results though only a short-ish part of the title is shown, so you might need to reword it in order for it to be more attractive right from the first few words.

    3) youtube seo - so much to know and so little space to share it here. Check the video marketing section in this forum, there's a TON of amazing and useful advice in there :-D

Why isn't it allowed? where does it say so? I've been posting videos on youtube for almost 2 years and never read anything of the sort.

also, why should he use a different title?

I don't want to seem like I'm picking on you (I'm not) it's just that I don't like answers shared without explaning the "why" ... it's a pet peeve of mine

    ciao!
