Yes, positive reviews help, I came across a guy who created a product that created a nag screen, that pushed you to his rating page, (now I dont know if that is even right to do in an app and if the app is not very good, you might wish you had not done that)

The thing is most people do not rate an app because its a hassle to do it.

Sure it only takes a few moments, but most people are just too busy to do that, you would need to somehow appeal to them in such a way that they feel obligated but without actually forcing them to do that, its the classic guilt thing, but really if you have to use psychological methods to try to get someone to leave a rating, I dont know how effective it would be.

I think that if your app is good and if you leave a friendly message saying if you enjoyed using this application why not leave a good rating. If you experienced any issues contact support.
