Wordpress local vs live development

Just wondering how many here develop their WordPress sites locally as opposed to live on their web host.

Also if local, what are some of the methods/plugins/software that you use to transfer the site to your host.

InstantWP is your answer. You can download an existing web site to your local machine, or start from scratch on your PC. The documentation ($) guides you on how to easily move your site back and forth. I've been using it for months and I love it.

The only thing about InstantWP is I haven't been able to get more than one site working.
Even though he gives instructions on how how to do multiple intallations, it doesn't work for me.

I have been using WAMP or WebMatrix.

I just realized I probably should have posting this in th html forum. My apologies.

EDIT: I did get it working. You can do multiple sites but only run one at a time which is ok with me. Thanks.
