Hi,

I understand completely how to drive traffic and leads via both SEO and Paid traffic sources to niche sites and lead capture sites etc.

My question is,

How do you build an authority website? For example a quality post might be title: How to drive Facebook traffic to your offers, clearly not a lot of people will search for something like this on Google, so SEO wont bring much traffic.

How do you get regular traffic to an authority website, rather than lead capture etc.

I hope my question is understood correctly!

Thanks.

Becoming an authority means proving you know what you are talking about. If you want people to keep coming back to your blog, then you have to give them a good reason to do so. The best way is to keep pumping out quality, original content that is useful. Key being useful!

You can build on that authority by making guest posts on other people's established blog sites. Submit original articles to them, not rehashed from your blog.

Interviews with other authority figures in your niche can be a great way to build authority through association, too.

    Andrew,

I don't think there's a lot of difference between driving traffic to an authority site and any niche site. Once the traffic comes aboard there are differences, but that's not what you're asking.

Since you've already mastered driving traffic you should have no problem getting prospects to your authority site. The only caution I would offer is that you want to make sure you have high quality links coming in and a few high quality links going out. Also, you will want to optimize your content pages for very specific keyword phrases as they will all become landing pages of sorts once your authority site takes off.

    Good luck to you,

Social media is the way to go if you're building an authority site.

Set up the normal accounts, fb, twitter, etc. Each time you post something helpful that people will be interested in, they'll come rushing over to see it. Google then returns the favor by sending some long tail traffic to your site.

An authority site in my opinion is all about creating a site where you focus on quality content and driving your own traffic and not relying on google. In return.. google usually sends some traffic in return..

The bold part is right on the money. Everything else is optional. I do very little in the way of social media, and yet I have a site that gets between 100,000 and 200,000 unique visitors a month. About half of that comes from the search engines. About 20 percent comes from bookmarks.

What's the best way to build authority?

    Well...

    Be an authority.

If you've discovered a duplicatable success model, then communicate the hell out of it - in all of its simplicity.

    Here's a key point:

Never stop expanding how you become MORE successful.

A true authority is always pushing the envelope and innovating.
