newbie to affiliate marketing

hi everyone,im a newbie to affiliate marketing and im from malaysia,wishing to dive into this big global market and earn some money ,but there is always a problem for newbie to start a new thing from zero,before joining warriorforum,i have been searching and surveying internet the term 'affiliate marketing' and try to make things simple but seems to be failed,so im here to please every gurus to give some hints and tips,all comments are welcomed and im willing to learn it,thanks~

    Affiliate marketing is pretty straight forward, someone will have a product which you will choose to promote. And on every sale you achieve, you receive a commission.

    The key to this is that you should learn to focus on driving QUALITY AND TARGETED traffic to your LEAD CAPTURE PAGE. Notice the upper case letters. These are the most important aspects for you, as of now.

    The more leads you get, the bigger your list grows. And a key rule to remember is 'The money is in the LIST'

    Email marketing converts better for selling affiliate products, plus you get the benefit of having people's email address to promote new products to them later. Can you see the benefit there?

    Email marketing is how most big name marketers succeed. It doesn't start off so easy and you really have to build a relationship with people first.

    If you can't afford your own website or an autoresponder you can set up a free page on a web 2.0 style site like squidoo, hubpages or wordpress.com. Then you just send traffic to those pages that have your affiliate links.

    Don't start in the Make Money Online niche if you're working with a basic method like this... choose a small niche where people aren't very internet savvy for best results.
