Should I open or Close Comment, Need Advice

Hi all,
I have an affiliate website it's in my signature, I have a question for you should I open or close comments in my website ?

It's closed right now because I want my audience to focus on my affiliate link and not to get distracted.
If I opened it I will get more social contact with my visitors and maybe some backlinks but will distract them from clicking my affiliate link

What do you Think ?

    Allow comments but moderate them.

I can moderate them no problem but do you think it will decrease my click through rate ?
That will depend on if they are good, bad or indifferent. The only way to know for sure is to test.

I agree with RogueOne. Keep comment open. It will help you to know what your readers want from you.

allow comments but have some spam prevention to avoid junk and bot craps. moderate comments and put some ratings plugin to rate the best comments at higher level.

I noticed that you had some quite positive comments before you decided to close them. In my view if people are leaving well written comments and you interact with them, then it gives more authority to your review and readers might realise that you are trying to be helpful in addition to trying to earn a commission. (Nothing wrong with that).

I thought that the comments and your replies showed you care about your readers and, rather than distract me, would make me more inclined to click on the link. Not only that but useful comments from people who have used the system you are reviewing might add something worthwhile to your review.

I've long ago disabled all comments on all of my sites, and I'm very glad indeed that I did. (I do have a forum, though, in my busiest niche, and that gets plenty of "comments", of course).

That doesn't make it the right decision for everyone, of course.

If you think your income is really helped by having the occasional interactive discussions, and making the site look more active, then go for it. It didn't do anything at all for mine. It was "appearance and workload only", and I was very happy to get rid of it (apart from in the one niche which obviously lent itself so well to having a forum).
