content, ads, more contents, ads, more content, ads...

I was looking for other online money opportunities besides affiliate marketing. I was hoping for a list of ideas that might work.

My biggest concern... how can anything work without the content, content, content mouse wheel.

Do you not want to include content in your marketing? or wish to try approaches without content?

Other approaches besides affiliate marketing ? you can create your own product and let others promote it, but this involves content.

Many online marketing methods will use content to drive traffic, whether it is a blog with article content, or an email list, emailing email content to your list etc.

What is your concern with using content ? or is that you can't create it ?

Other online money making opportunities? Why not create your own product and sell it directly? It can be a digital item or a physical one...the options are unlimited.

Thanks. Exactly what I was thinking. I am surprised that people are shocked that I don't want to spend my time creating content that will benefit Google way more than it will benefit me.

I wonder how much content Cocoa-Cola, IBM, etc. created a day when they first started up?

      Thanks again for your help.

Not much. They sponsored events, bought hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising, had a very aggressive sales force (there are plenty of real life stories of Coca Cola and Pepsi sales people getting "into it" when they see one another) , and do their best to buy exclusive distribution rights whenever possible.

I remember right when I graduated college Coca Cola pay a couple million dollars to have exclusive distributorship rights to sell their products on campus. Pepsi wasn't allowed. Practically overnight all the Pepsi products and beverages were removed. It was surreal.

You'll always need to create content. You don't always have to give it away for free though.

Create your own products, and send traffic through affiliates (yea.. NO BLOGGING)

then build a solid relationship with the leads on your list and convert them to buyers of your own products.. buy new leads... stop giving away quality content for free.

    Build yourself a brand then.

    Your own Ebooks.
    Your own ad network.
    Your own ecommerce store.
Your own Internet based service. (Lead-gen, software, ect)

Theres plenty of options. as long as you provide something valuable that people will need then youll be fine.

Affiliate marketing might pay the bills but its not a sustainable business. Like you said, you're at the mercy of google.... As well as your product owners, network owners and advertisers. If they decide to not pay you for any reason then you suffer the consequences. Better to be in control of your own destiny.

This was my biggest laugh this year!

Everything you find online is content, to a degree. In the sense you're thinking of I guess the most "anti-content" method you could use is direct buying traffic to a pre-sales page (or even right to an affiliate link if you're very bold).

However, just about every successful affiliate or Internet marketer relies on content to some extent. Even a website like Amazon, which you might not think of in the traditional sense as being a content site, is actually choc full of the stuff.

All those lovely product descriptions are content... all the images selling the products are content... all the user reviews are a form of content.

    Basically, you cannot escape content!

    Don't really understand the question.
I will tell you though I used to make good money with ppc and affiliate marketing with no content at all.
I still make money with like first time seen gadgets and products with no website and ppc.

I don't do the affiliate ppc no more cause I also spent a heck of alot of money advertising and one time I didn't set my panel up right, I think it was on excite.com, anyone old enough to remember that one lol. It might have been altavista anyways I left it on and lost 1 grand and back then that was alot.

Umm, well, first off, you're new to the forum, so if my assumption that you are new to exploring IM is wrong, well I apologize, but the reality is that YOU can use whatever type of content you want to create to sell things.

Personally, I love movies, music, comedy, the arts in general, and business. I also have a certain kind of background that makes me at least a borderline expert in a few things, i.e. I have a film degree, I've worked in TV and film, and I have two law degrees and a license to practice law, so I've got what you might call life experiences related to the things I enjoy.

It took me a while to figure out exactly what it is that I want to market and how I want to go about marketing it, but the type of content that I want to create will be FUN to create and fairly easy for me. Some of the content I will sell, will be less fun to create, but still more enjoyable that a "REAL" job.

The content that I create to market the content I will sell, and the affiliate goods I will promote, as well as a few other business ventures, WILL BE ENTERTAINING and EDUCATIONAL. The content I sell will be targeted and educational, and likely pricey because of those skills, but by making content that will be fun for me to make and fun for an audience to consume, I should do well.

I've heard about people making money pursuing ALL SORTS of passions online. I mean if you can find a topic you would talk about for days, chances are that there are 200,000 other people like you in the world, and chances are that those people have enough disposable income collectively to make it lucrative for you to create content about your favorite subject. I mean people monetize everything from Doctor Who fansites to sites about security guards, to sites about investing, to sites about wooden boats, to sites about you name it.

Figure out something fun, and the content becomes a joy.

You should try out Ebay. The fees are inevitable, but you can make some fast money there.

If you dont want to do that, set up a squeeze page, do some fast paid (targeted) advertising, and sell a relatively high priced, automated product.
