Any "Bio Box" Tips for Ezine Articles?

The "Bio Box" seems to be quite important when submitting articles to article directories.

That said, do you have any tips for writing one? What sort of sales copy should I put in my bio box in order to maximize the number of clicks I receive? (If your reply contains examples, or links to examples, I will consider you to be a hero and a saint).

Thanks!

    Hey james-

I've got a free report on this in the
war room. It's a freebie, no opt in
required, and it will definitely help
    you out.

I also saw a pretty good post on
    this stuff by shannon herod.

Read both of those and you're set.

    Hope that's useful

Ya, it is very important thing. It is better to include your site name and your name there, For an example:,
"Amenda Jessera, Working on XXXXXX site now, where you can get more XXXXX. Check it out here XXXXXX"

David Raybould's suggestion also seems to be another kind of TEXT to be put inside BIO....

Include a normal URL (http://www...) and not only hyperlinked backlinks. Many publishers remove HTML code and then you have nothing left that links back to you if you don't include a normal URL.

The word FREE increases the click through rate.

Ask yourself why the reader should click your link. What's in it for the reader? Give something away for free that matches perfectly to the article topic.

Offering them a free class on the subject of the article is a way to get them to go to your site.
Or use the resource box to saw something like "for more information on 'topic of article' go to xxx" and the page you send them to has more info on the subject and an opt-in to a free class.
Since they read the article you can assume they may want more on that subject.

I find that the shorter and the more to the point it is, the better. Something like "To deal with Panic Attacks, go to (url) now!". The reasoning is -- if your article has already built up significant interest in the subject matter, the reader is primed and ready to click, so you just have to point them to it.

I'm not a fan of including your name and background as I find, in most niches, it doesn't add any value and people don't really care.

If you've enjoyed all the exciting information in this artcile about %your keywords here%,you'll love everything else you find at
    <a href="your link here">%keyword anchor text here%</a>

What you just learned about %keywords here% is just the start.

Make the bio box about the product and about the wants of the buyers. don't waste it talking about yourself.. no one cares (anymore, if they ever did) what degrees you have or how old you were when you started...

      1. Remind your reader once again of the exact problem they are facing

      2. Give the url of the website/blog where they can get their problem fixed/cured/sorted.

      3. Give your reader a benefit of visiting the site you have recommended.

Also don't promote too many products, for example it'll be very hard to believe that "John Doe" is an expert on flowers, blogging, fish oil, ppc, domains...

So register a new account if you want to promote different niches..

"Just say, 'To read part 2 of this article, visit yourdomain.com'."

I have read that this is against EZAs TOS. Tread lightly.

At one point in time you could get by using that method with EZA but even then it was difficult to get through their editors. Now I think it's impossible to get through because it is indeed against their TOS.

I would create an article that is split into two or more parts - Part 1 is posted to the article directory. The bio box would say something like To read other associated stories visit my blog

There's nothing to denote that it's an actual "Author Bio" at the end of EZA articles. Some directories do use a heading to denote the beginning of that section, but EZA does not, and this is to your advantage. What I often do is try to make the author section seem like the actual end of my article. Don't wrap things up in the last paragraph of your actual article. Instead, use that last body paragraph as a lead-in to your author bio and hit them with a strong call to action. The last thing you want readers to see is your instructions to go to your site to get the full story and find a solution to their problem/desire/need.

I would follow the advice of "affilcrazy" and not use the typical:

"James Legacy is a very smart man to do follow his......"

I think it better to have a call to action type resource box. Just keep in mind that web surfers have a very short attention span and want information 5 minutes ago.

    That's my opinion.
