Would you recommend a sales letter for consulting services?

Or is that too much of a hard sell for services? I can only think of seeing it for products, but perhaps I'm wrong. I'm trying to sell my services on a subscription basis (marketing + tech help for small businesses). It's more niche than that, but that's the premise.

I'm glad to listen to everyone's advice here, but please don't pitch me on your services. I won't hire you.

I think you should use a sales letter for selling your services. You may not want to be as hypy as maybe a "make money online product" but you definitely want to show the potential client what the benefits of your services would be.

Word of advise: go to google and search for sites offering similar services that you plan on offering to see what may be working for them. Use them to give you ideas so that you craft your own sales page with your own individual twists.

I don't think it's a bad idea.. Good copy is going to work for you with a service as well as a product.

Actually I remember reading in one of Dan Kennedy's books on Direct Response Marketing where services are great for this, as examples he had a mortgage broker a tax refund place and many others that had awesome results.

A sales letter leading to a free phone consultation or a "business evaluation" should work wonders.

Good sales copy can help any type of business. You don't need to outsource it if you don't want to. Just try writing a quick sales letter and see if it helps get you leads.

Yes, I would. I am in the consulting business. And a good sales letter definitely helps
to promote myself and my services.

I'd definitely suggest using a sales letter - but definitely don't make it your homepage. Your homepage should be where you have all the info about your company. The sales page is where you can send traffic to

You are probably better off with a video and a header with sliders. A sales page might erode your credibility in certain settings/circumstances.
