Where to start? Where to find what I want to do for Marketing?

First of all, I am not looking for someone to hold my hand and tell me what to do, how to do it etc. While a mentor in the future may be nice, I don't even know what I want to do yet!

I see PPC, affiliate marketing, clickbank, probux etc, and I see so many ways and have no idea what to start with. I need to make more money, but I am patient and willing to learn. I bought a few WSO's, learned a bit about affiliate blogging and I am not sure I want to run 500+ websites. Even if I did, it would take a long time to start making money anyways. So I started, and will continue with that at a slow pace.

So what do you do, and what does it take to do it? What do you recommend in starting out?

I have been seeing that email lists are gold, not sure how to make one but I will look into it.

I guess what I am trying to say is, I see a plethora of information, and its overwhelming. So many ways to make money, so little time to go through the millions of ways to do it before actually starting.

    Pick something you want to do and stick with it. The entire purpose of some of the marketing on this forum is to persuade you they have the next best thing since sliced bread.
    If you want to do affiliate marketing do that and stick with it til you are making money. If you want to do email marketing then do it stick with it til you are making money.

    Don't jump around because something looks better.

    If you want to hire somebody to work with you be sure to do your research on that person first because there are those here that can and will rip you off. Good Luck

    I don't know if I want to be an affiliate blogger, but I know I want to run a few blogs. What are some good ways of making money off of blogs besides affiliate marketing? I have three blogs, one on Android, one on iOS and one on Social Networking tricks.

    Would email list building help? Not sure how it even works yet.

        I don't mind spending money but there are so many mentors and all of them claim they are best. Very difficult to choose.

    If you want to run a few blogs, just make sure to consistently create unique content for them. By doing so, you will organically drive traffic, and once you have traffic, it will be easy to monetize it. The hard part is being consistent with frequent, quality content

    Stick to one idea; don't get information overload and jump around from project to project. Try out one method, get some momentum, and stick with it long enough to try and get some results.

    There are people making money with every method you look at. The trick is to quickly choose one, make a plan that will only take a few weeks and follow up until you are making a few dollars. If you look at too many options, you might get analysis paralysis or go back and forth between projects without ever finishing any of them.

    Focus on why are you starting your business?who is your ideal customer? So build a plan on a budget.

      When I first started out, I gathered a lot of info, not so much for 'shiny object' reasons, but to get an idea of what methods were available & the different ways that people were making money online.

      This gave me a good feel for what interested me the most.

      This might prove a good way that you can narrow down your field of overwhelm.

      Eliminate things that you feel you really don't want to do now, such as affiliate marketing with blogs as you stated. However, maybe you could build those blogs up a little in terms of traffic with a view to flipping/selling them for potentially faster cash.

      If your blog is on a particular topic, maybe it's something you know a lot about & can create your ebook on that topic to sell.

      Getting a mentor is some good advice. However, if you're not yet in a position to do that, & you've already been through a ton of info, just start eliminating things/methods that really don't interest you, learn what you can about the things that do, & just start running with one.

      Procrastination is a killer in this biz.

    Take a look at your goals and the resources you have available to achieve those goals. Which one of those business plans will allow you to get started and succeed with the resources you have?

    There are lots of different methods to make money online, and yes... building a list is a very smart long term goal you need to be working towards.

    Choose a niche you like and give it a go. Stay clear of the make money online niche, especially in the beginning when you're learning how it works.

    First you have to pick a method you think looks interesting, then you have to work out a plan or your own blueprint.

    A good tip when you have picked a method is to make a blueprint, step by step action plan on how to get to your goal. Try to be as detailed as possible. I try to make a plan, then I put up a list of all the tasks I have to do the next three days. That way you won't become too overwhelmed with everything you have to do. Focus on one thing until you are successful.
