Cookie stuffing?

I know this has recently been a problem for many IM'ers i have seen a slowdown in sales myself

What im wondering is how can i check if i have been cookie stuffed?

How can i protect myself against it?

Anyway to prevent it from happening?

Not much you can do. It's not being done to you it's just being done. In other words if you were making 100 sales a day maybe now you make 98. It won't wipe out your sales.

Cookies get stuffed on other website, email and through spyware. It affects a small % of users. Most affiliate programs catch it quickly.

Don't the cookies get stuffed in the buyers browser? The way I understand it, and I don't really understand it that well, is that somehow the perpetrator gets the cookies into prospects cookie file so that when they go to any number of possible sales pages and finally buy, the perpetrators cookie will be the one that gets used in the purchase.

So, there isn't really anything you can do as it is your buyer who's computer is the one that is affected. At least that is the way I understand it to work. If I am wrong, I would be interested to know. But, I don't really have a burning desire to learn about it as it is not something I would want to do. I would prefer to not make any money on the web than to have to resort to this type of behavior.

The dude known as 'X' has trained and euipped a whole lotta affiliates with this tech. Are you using PPC? If so then it may not be cookie stuffing but simply someone spying on your profitable campaigns and cloning/replacing them. You need to protect against this. There's a lady on here (from Aussie) with the tech to do just that. It stops the robots (of these PPC spy sites/services/software/scripts) from spidering your affiliate sites. You may also be able to research a few tricks to add into the mix and send their saddles elsewhere (bogus "campaigns") using .htaccess redirects, thus getting them off your scent. Google it, sorry I have no time.
