Could this be another reason why businesses should have mobile presence?

Hi Warriors,

I am not sure if someone has already posted something similar but I am keen to hear your opinions on this.

On July 22nd, Google will be flipping the switch and automatically sending all AdWords customers to their new Enhanced Campaigns model. This means that everybody using this service will automatically have their advertising campaigns running on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

For some, this may mean some big changes. The new Google AdWords Enhanced Campaigns update means small businesses will miss out on a huge opportunity if they don't have a mobile presence or currently include mobile in their advertising mix.

So, for those who are advertising with Google's AdWords program, what do you think?

Cheers,

It would definitely make for a great selling point for mobile site/mobile conversion providers. But the best selling point for mobile sites goes deeper than just adwords enhancement.

I guess another WSO will be created to address this important transition.

    We shall soon find out.

There are businesses that probably aren't ready for the adjustment, but that's how online business works, you either go with the flow or you get outdated fast. Eventually every website will need to be mobile compatible I think, so it's just another push in that direction.

I don't think Google are just going to force your ads to show on tablets or mobile devices. That would be silly for them to do. Remember it is in Googles best interest that people who click their ads find useful sites. So if they are advertising businesses who don't have mobile optimized websites to mobile users, it's only going to hurt their user experience.

I think they will be logical about things and allow you to select whether you want ads to show on desktop, tablet, or mobile. Forcing that would just be a silly move.

I agree, there has to be a way to turn off the mobile ads. There are tons of sites that aren't mobile optimized still, not to mention the fact that mobile traffic may not convert to sales for your business as often as desktop and tablet traffic.

        Exactly.

Some businesses may not want to advertise to mobile users because they are not a good demographic for them. So this type of thing would never be forced.

I use Big Commerce for all my E-Commerce stores - they get automatically configured for mobile viewers which is nice

that said I am yet to be convinced customers would buy some of the products I sell online via their cell phones (Tablets yes, cell phones no)

The use of mobile devices is on the rise, and it is important for your website to be ready for those mobile visitors.
