Yet another Fiverr thread

Hi guys,

I'm new here and it seems like many of you are familiar with Fiverr. I just joined not even two weeks ago. My main gig is a writing/typing gig and I was wondering how much of the rights do I own of the articles that I've sold there so far? Am I giving the buyer full rights to the article or just publishing rights?
I'm not sure if it's possible to sell the same articles somewhere else. And despite Google being a good friend of mine, I haven't found an answer to this question. Any thoughts?

Thank you!!

With out knowing the details of your ad, I would guess buyers assume they own it completely.

Fiverr states in their TOS, that everything you sell is then the copyright of the buyer.

If you state that it's PLR, essentially, that you're selling in the description, then it may be ok.

However, why would someone buy an articles that's going to be sold possibly multiple times... when they have so much choice for original material on there.

Maybe you should try a quality PLR pack, and limit it to 10, 20 copies or something. If it's big enough it could do well.

If you have not made it clear in writing to your buyer what his/her rights are, then your buyer will probably do whatever they want with the article, whether your idea of their rights is different or not.

You speak of reselling the same articles somewhere else? If hundreds of your fiverr buyers come across those articles elsewhere, what type of feedback do you think you will receive? (especially if your gig is one of those "I will write you an article for 5 bucks) type of gig.

I suggest you start spelling out the rights for your articles in your gigs, so that both you and your buyers are clear on it.

Present the RIGHTS in your Gigs Description.

When your Gig Extras feature is enabled in the F=future.... you might want to consider adding special rights for more money

    Good luck to ya.

The answer is in Fiverr's Terms Of Service: you're giving full rights, unless specified otherwise, not just publishing rights.

I claim no such familiarity or friendship with Google, myself, but I always read the Terms Of Service of people with whom I do business online.

Here is the clause from Fiverr's terms that is relevant to your question:

"unless clearly stated otherwise in the Gig description text, when the work is delivered, the buyer is granted all intellectual property rights, including but not limited to, copyrights for the work delivered from the seller and the seller waives any and all moral rights therein."

Thanks everyone who answered! It makes sense. In this case, I won't resell them, keeping a good feedback is more important for me. And respecting the terms of service of course!

    Thanks again!

The competition is so fierce on fiverr, especially for writing, I'd recommend blowing the competition out of the water, and way over delivering... offer double or triple the word count... you can always change this after you've got a few gigs under your belt.

      Good luck.
