Start Fresh, Or Purchase An Aged Domain?

My head is buzzing with questions as I am almost ready to begin my authority fitness site.

One thing I've been wondering is...

Provided I can find something with a relevant name, how beneficial would it be to purchase an aged/expired domain? I'm not quite sure what the market is, but if I could find a relevant PR3-PR4 for a reletavely good price, would this be worth it?

    Instead of relying on 'gimmicks' like aged domains and EMDs, focus instead on building a quality site that adds real value to the lives of your site's visitors. Shortcuts don't last. Need proof? Look at what happened to EMDs when Google took away their ranking 'bonus.' Focus on something solid instead-build something that will withstand the test of time.

    Great to know, thank you. And yeah I've heard about the exact match penalty...funny how yesterday's tactics are today's failures. Definitely not trying to depend on Google for this new site!
