Do you do it? If so, has it been a beneficial to your sales efforts?

Do you not do it, and if not is there a reason why you don't?

*For free forum marketing, it is very important to become a popular member of a forum. Otherwise your links or signatures will not be able to bring much leads.
*Paid forum marketing works really well. Can bring a lot of leads. Especially great for list building.
*For the forums, it is important to check about the product or service before posting the ads within their forum.

Yeah it all comes down to how you are perceived on the forum. If you are a new member with 1 post chances are your links will be looked past as compared to someone with thousands of posts and well known for quality answers.

Just out of interest is it possible to do this without having a site. For example Amazon sells almost anything so you could target almost any forum.

Forum marketing is just one form of traffic. If done properly it can be very lucrative. When it comes to forum marketing you generally get out what you put in.

      Thanks,

I take it its always best to build up relationships. Is it best to add links to direct to products which you think someone needs or do you respond to links to content you have on your site.

    Yeah its awesome!

The trick is to have a nicely written signature that draws people in.

Also, the better messages you put out on the forum, it also makes you look more like an authority and you drive traffic to your website at the same time.

    So its a win/win.

I do it but not for getting links unless its a top rated forum. I do it for signature and to get signups and it works okay.

You won't get a 1000 on your list a day but I will throw some numbers at you.
My signature right now sucks, I get about five or six a day when I post and about 1 to 2 when not posting.

    I've had signatures where I get 20 to 30 a day.

Now I know that doesn't sound like a lot but were talking one forum.
If I can maintain 10 per day for 365 days, well you see where I'm going with it.

There are probably about 5 to 6 Internet Marketing forums I do though, the others usually don't perform as well except they do better for the sig I have now because it is geared at newbs.

    Hope that helped some.

    Thanks guys,

Im planning to link to my clearance page as im hoping it wikk convert brttrr than my homepage. I am also working on a landing page for an ebook but im not sure if I should just hand it out in PDF or have people sign up by email. I'm always hesitant to sign up for things because I just don't want a clogged uo email box.

Also have people been develooing alternatives to Google because of there algorithm updates?
