I am considering becoming a member of lynda.com for their courses.

There seem to have a lot on there that is relevant to what i want to learn but I am always weiry having to pay a subscription without knowing how good it is.

Anybody on here used it. there is alot on there that is IM based.

IMO i think you can get everything about IM youll ever need to learn here on WF. I was a member for a couple months and a lot of it is past techniques that you can learn for free elsewhere. It is great if you don't know where to find the info but you have found it! Your a war room member. Dive in more in there!

Yeah. Thats why I joined here, so I can learn from you guys and eventually add value of my own.

I am looking to get the basics of this stuff done and out the way. I need to learn how to build websites and make my own amendments (html, php, css etc), photoshop, ad campaigns, everything needed to do this at a basic level.

although this is an amazing platforrm for me to learn, and I already have learnt a ton, I fear that I will become one of the annoying 'please help' guys that takes and takes and takes.

Hence why I want to have access to courses and videos, in one place that I know will help me. I can probably find what I need on youtube or other free sites, but It seems a little overwhelming to do it that way.

If it is code your trying to learn first head over to codecademy.com before paying for lynda. That is how I picked up code and it gets pretty in depth. Lynda is really good for photoshop but there are a lot of other free sites also.

We are all "please help" at one point! I know i still am :p

  • I am well pleased by the efforts of Lynda.com They are very good and I believe that good things do not always comes free. Since they are putting their sincere efforts they should be paid well in order to keep the effort continued.

I'm currently a member and use the $37.95 a month membership although I will change to $25 for the next charge.
It is good and my longest course has been over 6 hours.
But I will probable stop in a month or two.
      It is too much information.

Yes they are one of the leading video tutorial trainers on the web now. I have subscribed and I am proud that I have got very good content. Its worth for each penny you pay. If you want to try out some samples before you buy you can actually get almost all of their tutorials in torrents. If you like that then you can go ahead and buy...

    Thanks

I've been a premium member of Lynda.com for several years now. Their courses are created by some of the top industry professionals in their respective fields. The only advantage to being a premium member is that you are given access to the exercise files that accompany some of the courses. They aren't absolutely necessary as you would just have to type out any code or files used in the course yourself.

The material they offer is usually current and comprehensive.

One of the great features of lynda is that you are not obligated to any long term membership plans. Although they require automatically recurring, monthly billing, you may cancel at any time without any reprisals, and then sign-up again later when you need it. So, if you are too busy attending to other commitments on a given month and haven't the time to use your lynda membership, you can just cancel your account and renew a month or two later when you have the time to make use of it.

You may also upgrade and/or downgrade membership plans at will, and they will pro-rate and refund you the difference

It's definitely worth the money if you have the time to take advantage of it.
