Is Amazon serious? I need some advice on this please!

Hi,
Just started with amazon affiliate marketing. Ive spend a lot of time reading about it online and a lot of time building my website. To my surprise though... this is part of the email that i got from them after rejecting me...

1. " Amazon is not set up to just advertise Amazon and 3rd party links within websites or make amazon mini sites. The program is set up to assist existing websites in monetizing and enriching their content. It is not set up to be the only reason for your site."

also

2. "we suggest adding more unique and original content"

and what i still do not really understand

3. "my site may not present a mutually beneficial business oportunity"

Well....are they serious??? I'd appreciate some experienced members to comment on this.

My site is nothing new..it has though a different layout than usual. It is a product site like everybody else is selling online especially in forums like these. I see hundreds of threads about sites ...this and that...i earn this much....you earn this much...buy this site...testimonials...etc...

So basically ...are they telling me that everybody here is talking BS?
I do not use a content generator like most of the sites i see. I grab the feed from amazon and present it with a different layout. I also have some news feeds.

Are you guys telling me that you write unique articles for every product...when you have 1000's of products. Even if you use a bot it still would not be ''original and unique'' as they said.

When it comes to the 3rd one....i still do not understand it. Of course it supposed to be a business opportunity. What is the point otherwise?
Also when i earn...they earn...i really do not see the point of rejecting my application.

I would much appreciate any comments and suggestions on this
Thank you in advance

What is the url for your website? We would be better able to help you if we could take a look at your site. FYI: Yes, every single article on my amazon sites have unique articles, typically around 1000 words each.

Consider yourself lucky that they rejected you. It could have been worse had they approved your account and you started making money immediately. Here's what myself and hundreds of others think about making money with Amazon:

What it sounds like to me is they didn't like your site and felt it looked too "promotional". But i have no idea what your site looks like. What they want you to do is make a site to help people with useful content and then feel free to put up a couple ads, and some product links for relevant content. Make it look professional.

    Amazon doesn't suck.

I've never heard of anyone getting refused before so your website must have been pretty terrible.

As I've said multiple times before think outside the box a bit instead of trying to create auto generated or poor quality review sites.

There are some great ways to make sites that people love to interact with, share, link to, post to their social networks and visit time and time again. With a review site you struggle to get anyone to link to it and traffic is difficult to come by except from search engines plus not many people will repeat visit a review site.

OK so not a review site but instead just some auto generated site that displays products available on Amazon but offers nothing else that Amazon doesn't already offer, right?

So there's no point in your site. Amazon is right.

If you want to make money from Amazon don't just try and build a bridge page between Amazon and the end user build something that offers REAL value to the user, something they actually find useful and can't find on Amazon otherwise what's the point? Just polluting the internet.

What it offers is a video of the product in this case a movie trailer in other cases a video presentation or video review of the product...ex..a TV...

So basically youre telling me that all the sites that they sell here are gonna get rejected...but i see plenty of people selling these sites witch means that people still buy them and they get accepted right?

I don't know anything about sites that people sell here. I don't know if Amazon accepts them or not.

Honestly I've not heard of people getting rejected from Amazon. Pretty much anyone with a website gets approved.

But maybe Amazon is getting stricter. Maybe they don't see the point in people just pulling data from Amazon and presenting it in a slightly different fashion that offers nothing that Amazon doesn't already offer. I don't know.

I'm just saying to think a little differently from everyone else who has Amazon stores and 'review' sites full of fake and biased reviews designed just to get clicks.

I've never bought any of these done for you Amazon sites available in the WSO section but the ones I've seen I believe would not convert that well anyway for numerous reasons but having never used one I cannot say for sure. Just from my personal experience.

    Hello,

haven't they answered your questions already?

    For me this:

    3. "my site may not present a mutually beneficial business oportunity"
is pretty clear. I mean they TOLD you the why's and to be honest, I actually agree with even when I probably wouldn't have said that long ago.

Point being, myself, but of course also many vendors such as Amazon and then of course REAL PEOPLE are getting sick of "fake" sites or sites which only serve the purpose to sell, without any own input, content, uniqueness or whatever.

I myself am getting sick of this since as someone w/ IM experince we do of course recognize such sites right away where you IMMEDIATELY see the intention of a site.

To me it looks like that you made a site, say, XYZ like I myself did in the past, laptops, camera objectives, books, big screen TVs....and had nothing on it but the Amazon products and possibly even 1:1 copies of the reviews from Amazon.

What's the purpose? Why should amazon support this? Why should a user go on your site and not buy right from Amazon? It has no effing purpose which is USEFUL for the consumer, it is only useful FOR YOU since you did it to make money selling as a an affiliate for amazon without adding anything of value.

The problem (the irony...) is that you even say you don't understand why they rejected you. But you should understand this.

Look, you even say you only take the feed from amazon and present it in a different layout...I mean your OP has all your answers already and I am puzzled that you need to ask. Again..what is the benefit for the user?

Do you have a real (say: REAL) reviews where you compare various products, maybe including some not even from Amazon to help people make a buying decision?

Do you have a blog where you write in-depth about your experience with some product/books/software/TV or whatever and then in addition endorse the product and link to Amazon?

Do you have a blog/site about a certain hobby or subject where people can get informed and buy products matching their interests, based on real experience...say..travel site where you at some point would look at several sleeping bags and then recommend them...etc..etc..

Point is.you did NOTHING of the above.

Did you happen to apply to Amazon.ca rather than Amazon.com? Having heard about how easy the applications process is, I submitted an application to Amazon.ca while my new site was still under construction. I received a rejection letter identical to that one.

Amazon.com accepted me without reservations less than two hours later.

Maybe it's only the American version that has no standards?
