Error establishing database connection hostgator

I hosted my client's website at hostgator .some times, while opening the website it is showing as "Error establishing database connection " .
My client wanna switch to a better hosting provider. Which one is best ?
Is Microsoft is providing web hosting directly ?

    That's normally the message you get when you haven't filled in the correct database details in the wp-config.php file.

    Also happens when mysql server is down so better contact your host quickly.

      I contacted hostgator support, when it happened first time.
      It is annoying that when this error message is getting regularly.
      Anyway my client (globemovingcompany.com) is not happy with hosting.

      When i googled , found Microsoft hosting (microsoft.com/hosting).
      Is this service providing my Microsoft itself or service providers?

        also try the name servers.
        I don't know how long you've had your client on hostgator for, but they just recently mitigated all their hosting accounts to new servers. Just got the email a few days ago actually.

        I personally would stick with hostgator, and try to fix the problem first. They are the only ones I know to have the best customer support

        Well I've just looked at it and I don't understand a word of it. I suspect MS are being deliberately obtuse to hide the fact that they don't actually provide hosting - just cloud services for MS Office. I found a list of external providers of Windows hosting - most hosts, I think, use Linux.

        I could be very wrong because, as I said, I didn't understand it.

        Maybe someone smarter than me can decode it for us?

    Support from hostgator India is not as much good compared to hostgator us.
    I am not getting proper for my ticket, even chat support peoples are technically not sound.
    one of my another client having hostgator us account, support is good there. Tats why i recommend this client to take hostgator hosting.
