Frustrating experience with Textbroker

Couple of days ago signed up with TextBroker to order an article which i needed urgently for a project in couple of days. Once submited first order discovered that for the first order they do verification by phone. I tried to catch them on Skype but got no reply, wrote them couple of mails got no reply. Never received their call for verification, nor got reply of my mails.

I m not able to pick why the hell they need to verify by phone while i added 25$ upfront in the account and payed in-advance for the article. It's two days almost trying to catch them and get mine article through but no vain. Don't know what to do now. Article was for a launch and i needed it very urgently.

    Hi IMGem,
I'm sorry that we weren't able to verify your account promptly.
Unfortunately, we've had a few instances of fraud where others have used and abused people's credit cards and PayPal accounts, so we call to double-check.
If you no longer need the article, you can delete it at your convenience. Please PM me your email address for a full refund.
Thank you for giving us a chance, even if we didn't meet your expectations.
    Cheers,
    Christina

Thanks Christina for getting back. I got my refund. Anyone goes into service like yours have always big expectation. In mine particular case, i had really urgent need of content and did my best to catch on every channel. It's great that you go through verification stuff but kindly try to streamline the prcoess by making some online Chat system available.

I have heard good things about Quality of your content but kindly streamline verification process as this is the first impression after signing up for the service.

This is why I advise anyone (even those that don't come to my company for content) to avoid sites like this.

That and the fact that just about anyone can get a job writing for these companies.

I hope you get your money back though!

You advise people to avoid sites like textbroker because they have procedures in place to combat fraud?

He advises against it because he is competition.

Um, no. Because there's always an unexplained issue (the guy had to come on this forum and talk about it to get an answer. Great customer service, huh?) that seems to never get, well, explained. But...

They probably should've fought that fraud BEFORE they took his money.

Reason two, as I listed above, was due to how they provide their content.

Surely I'm not competition for a large provider such as Textbroker. Don't be silly.

In this situation, you're right. But, why'd you mind company from avoiding fraud!

I just wanna tell you that most of the links in the signature are trash and/or a trap to make you pay!

I appreciate the fact. But it takes bit to long to do this, so "TB" need to improve on this. In this particular experience i tried to catch them rather than other way around.

I agree with you, PayForWords, the "fraud prevention" measures should have been taken before they took his money. When I made a URL purchase through Joker.com recently, I had to jump through some hoops before they would complete the transaction. But the difference was, they didn't charge me a dime until after I'd jumped through their hoops. I am suspicious of any company that takes a customer's money, then refuses to complete the transaction until the customer has "verified" it.

I also agree that independent professional copywriters are not in competition with mills like TextBroker, anymore than high-end retailers compete with Wal-Mart. They're simply not going after the same target market.

Yep! Exactly! Sounds like the system is backwards...

But you're exactly right. I'm not competing with sites like:

      Textbroker.com
      Articlez.com
      etc

Either way, glad this guy got his money back and got the issue resolved.

        Wow.

First, if you put yourself in the position to need content that quickly, you're just begging to have problems from any delay, no matter the cause. I understand that's not always your fault, but it's hardly the fault of your "rescue" vendor, either.

Second, it's very difficult to do the kind of pre-verification of ID that merchant accounts make possible if the payment comes through Paypal. For the most part, you're stuck with whatever checks Paypal has in place, and those aren't much good for payments sent using Paypal account funds.
Um, no. Because there's always an unexplained issue (the guy had to come on this forum and talk about it to get an answer. Great customer service, huh?) that seems to never get, well, explained.
"Had to?" You don't know that, or even have any really solid reason to believe it. You're making an assumption to fit your preferred outcome, rather than looking for relevant facts on which to base a reasonable conclusion. There are not enough of those facts in this thread to do that with any degree of confidence.

Well, then maybe they shouldn't accept PayPal as a payment method. If was concerned about PayPal transactions being fraudulent, I wouldn't accept it as a payment method. Perhaps that's why Joker.com doesn't take PayPal; I don't know.

Bottom line: it is wrong to take someone's money, then insist that they jump through hoops in order to get what they paid you for.

Did you get your article? I'm sure someone can help you out here if not or shoot over the Fiverr or even people who have blogs about your particular niche- they will probably pump out an article for some money. I agree with you thatthe phone verification is ridiculous being that you paid. You paid and therefore deserve what you paid for. There is nothing they should need to verify being that they got what they need from you.
