I've been reading on here for a while but I'm having trouble finding help with writing emails for an autoresponder list. I'll post an example below but before I do I also want to ask if anyone knows any good guides for writing the emails. Having a list with willing buyers doesn't do much if you can't write well enough, right?

So here's my example. This is meant to be the first email including the freebie giveaway after a sign-up from a squeeze page.

Congratulations! You're making the most important decision of your life by downloading this free report. The first step to making changes in your life is admitting you need help, so good on you for getting this report.

I'm sorry, though, I'm being rude, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is [XX], I'm a writer at [Website.com] and I wrote this report you'll be downloading. You might be a little skeptical, and that's good, but give this a chance and you will start to see some improvement.

This report is a great tool, but you can't make significant changes overnight, so I'm going to be sending you periodic emails to help you further improve yourself. Don't worry, though, if you don't want to get them there's a link to unsubscribe in each email; no hard feelings if you decide to cancel either.

Now, to the good stuff. Click here to download your report and give it a good read. Give the tips and advice a good try and I'm sure you'll start to see improvement.

I'll send you another email in a few days with some more help, so be on the lookout for it.

Enjoy Your Day,
Name

I have a feeling it doesn't flow well between the first and second paragraphs but I'm just not sure. Any help appreciated.

the greatest rule i learned when it comes to email marketing is to never make it like a sales pitch. write like you are talking to a friend. also, avoid exaggerations. the more honest you are, the better the outcome will be. good luck!

My critique - unless you are a writer selling a writing-type service, saying that you are a "writer with xyz" doesn't grab me. Anyone can be hired to be a writer; I want to know I'm talking to one of the experts.
